Because some people have a different opinion of how to combat the problem they're now 'terrorist apologists'. That's the most reductive base and idiotic thing you've ever said. You're better than that..

Kids have been murdered and it's just 'well kids are getting murdered elsewhere, why do these kids matter', do you have any idea how bullshit that it is?

I'm absolutely sick of it.

that's how you interpreted it, that's not how I did and I don't think anyone's made a statement where that was the intention.

It feels very much the opposite to me I'm afraid. It's just excuse after excuse.

Some people just can't help but stick the knife in.

Katie Hopkins let go from LBC after her tweet calling for a final solution. Hopefully her support will continue to dwindle when people realise she isn't 'telling it like it is' at all.

No doubt she's signing up as a columnist at either the Daily Mail or the Scum as we speak.

I don't think anyone is - and I don't think anyone feels any less angry/sad/horrified than you feel.

But we need to do something different to tackle this than we are now - I don't think you would disagree, although we might not agree on what that something is.

You got any examples because apart from one poster quite early on in the thread I haven't seen anyone that I've considered belittling them. Quite the contrary, I think everyone is quite shocked and appalled.

It's the general rhetoric and wording Clint, 'it's happening to other kids elsewhere'. Everyone knows that, yet it feels to me as if it is being used here as a tool to make the victims of the Manchester attack insignificant.

As I've listed above, I want us to pull out of all middle eastern conflict immediately. I don't think we are helping whatsoever, and we shouldn't have blood on our hands, we're better than that.

Liquid, I didn't say that I believed the radicalization was happening in traditional religious settings. What I said was that they definitely have a role in trying to preach that any radicalization they succumb to (the vast majority of which is online) is an offence to Islam, etc. But you are correct - I don't know to what extent that happens already, so I apologise if I have underestimated them.

Bad things happen. What evidence do you have that things need to change? What freedoms would you like to see removed to make us safer and why now when terrorist incident fatalities are at an all time low?

It's not callous. It's thinking beyond your nose.

Here's an example, what if people had died from the NHS malware attack the other week? Perhaps people did.

Do you know how that exploit got out? The NSA created it to do what you want and promptly lost it onto the web. Millions in damages and the NHS down for a day so the spooks could, what exactly?

It's nice and easy to shout outrage, as I said more people die from car exhaust fumes, I assume you are raging at anyone against a switch to clean fuel? More people die from heart disease, I assume you are campaigning for legislation on unhealthy food? More people die from car crashes, I assume you are lobbying for autonomous cars to be rushed ahead. Because if not, you're a massive hypocrite just trying to virtue signal. Are those lives worth less because they died less spectacularly?

Again: it's loud, it's scary, it looks like the movies, and every death is obviously a tragedy, but in the great scheme of things it's not a significant threat.

The other point here is that the clue is in the name: terror-ism. The aim is to make us scared of something we shouldn't be scared of. I refuse to play into their hands. Fuck em.

One good reason is that success breeds success. Others may gain inspiration to do the same actions.

I don't think anyone in the debate is saying from a world perspective that a British life if worth more than an Iraqi (or whatever) life either...but the closer to home it gets...the higher the value surely?

Deaths in Iraq (or wherever) never postponed any UK electioneering after-all?

"Every Muslim who has ever handled TNT, Nitro, Bullets, High Explosive Bombs, Rocket Launchers or been treated for cuts injury requiring stitches, or taken antibiotics, or Vitamin Capsules, has been contaminated with Pig Products.

The ironical part is that when a Suicide Bomber blows himself up his body parts are impregnated with Gelatine and Glycerine from the explosive. Both Gelatine and Glycerine are manufactured from Pigs worldwide. Ergo, they will never be accepted by Allah."

Not sure how true this is, but just seen it posted online.

Jihadists in Egypt are now killing Christian families on a regular basis

Still the death toll hasn't yet reached the amount who died from the bubonic plague so it's all ok

It doesn't sound like it would be from any manifesto, It's a statement from a specific view point or ideology, unlike a pledge, promise or guarantee to a 'vote ready' population as part of an election campaign that would form part of a manifesto.

If it were to be put in the context of a manifesto pledge it would read more like "all products related to the genus Sus, or such like" will be removed from all explosive related mediums and peripherals as not to cause offence.

Thank you I didn't read that. Sorry!! Didn't work in Ireland at all. Cause you need evidence. Mail saying 23000 terrorists being watched. So unhelpful. If someone could show me the way this works and doesn't make it worse I'm all ears

- Pull out of all middle eastern conflict immediately. We don't need to be involved in this shit and I don't think we're really helping.
- Cut ties with Saudi Arabia. Licking them is a joke, they need to be told to fuck off until they sort their shit out at least.
- Extreme vetting of any refugees we do take, this also means anyone posing as a migrant is deported immediately for not qualifying. No risks needed.
- Shut down religious schools and integrate the kids into mainstream society.
- Go in and shut down any ghettos that are in existence. - Certainly can be found in France, Belgium, and Sweden. A few scattered round the UK too.
- Shut down any mosque that is deemed as a terrorist melting pot. Even if one person comes out of there with radical views. No second chances.
- Deport any hate preachers and ban them from the UK for life.
- 4,000 people on the watch list as of now, sift through them, deport anyone who even associated with terrorism. Any UK nationals within that group should also be imprisoned immediately. No second chances.
- Anyone found guilty of terrorism planning, funding, or affiliation. Immediate prison or deportation (all family members too).
- Encourage friends, family, colleagues, and mosques to grass these people up. Use a variation incentives. We need help to fight this from regular Muslims.
- Stop this 'islamaphobia' bollocks. Radical muslims are killing people, even if some people take it too far, the basic principle is not an irrational phobia.
- Stop the 'terrorist attacks are part and parcel of living in a big city' mindset. This is war, terrorism is winning. We need action.
I'd agree with that. The tricky part is how you do things like shutting down mosques and schools in such a way that it doesn't aid terrorist recruitment.

The 'known to police' thing needs some explaining. We need to be told why, when these people always turn out to be known, nothing has been done to stop them. What do they mean by known? That they once stole a Mars bar from the newsagent or there is credible intelligence they are up to something.

If its the later thats where you get into a tricky area. Under what law are you going to indefinitely detain / deport someone who hasn't actually committed a crime yet. We need to find a way to do that which stands up to scrutiny from a human rights perspective.

Think there needs to be a wider conversation around immigration itself and if it works. We should look at countries with higher immigration rates such as Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden. How do we compare to them, are immigrants more integrated in other countries?

Found out yesterday that two people who worked for our company, were unfortunately killed in the explosion. Only 17 & 19. Feel for all of those affected. Dreadfully, dreadfully sad.
