No surprise there then, but what do SISU care about the residents, they don't care about the fans, so goes hand in hand eh !

And finally at the 3rd attempt Simon Gilbert has acknowledged that housing proposals have already been turned down on the site, even if it is the person being interviewed pointing it out to him.

i feel an award coming his way for investigative journalist of the year.

This was stated in the first article about it.

"The way appears to have been cleared for new development plans on the 71-acre site, owned by the Ronald Wilson Trust, after the Secretary of State recently rejected proposals to build 200 houses and a community centre on the swathe of land following a public inquiry.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Council had initially approved the plans."

And the second article too. Am I missing something?

I see someone's in line for the "it's easy to criticize others while you're sat behind a keyboard" award.

Ironic indeed. Wouldn't catch me doing that :thinking about:

Anyway, the residents have nothing to worry about regarding a new stadium.

Don't you think that the fact these proposals were turned down makes it significantly less likely that a stadium would be allowed there? yet its phrased positively as "The way appears to have been cleared"

Well of course yes. I'm just pointing out it has been mentioned, 3 times. Not "finally at the 3rd attempt."

Is that his wife? She has clearly gone to the trouble in finding something "football" related to wear as well and sported a 1990's Umbro Jacket.

Oh yes, because I posted he was wearing West Brom trackies that instantly translated to "I think Tim Fisher supports Coventry".

A bit like the CET and peoples lives.
These residents have already had a battle to bring the case against a housing development.
Now they are worried about a stadium being built based on 2 separate pieces of information, namely CET finding a possible site and an inquiry sometime in the past to the council by the club.

Well could you explain the reasons as to how that is a suitable area for a football stadium?

They should insist on a Sec 106 planning clause so they get a free season ticket for life!

Actually it was mentioned in the very first story... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-citys-new-home-6481660

(eighth paragraph)

I've spoken to the head of planning at Nuneaton and Bedworth Council today too. I'll let you decide what conclusions to draw on potential development at the site after you've read what he's had to say.

Should be online Monday.

Hi Simon

that's been pointed out to me, apologise for that.

have you also asked for comment from the secretary of states offices on this subject as well, given they turned down the appeals from the Ronald Wilson Trust

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...fs_2192451_and_2195969__14_November_2013_.pdf

i assuming off course that the secretary of state didn't turn down the much needed housing because he really wanted a sports stadium on the site all along.
