Seem to remember him stumbling around in Leamington on multiple occasions.Would have thought that with the amount of money around that clubs don’t invest / strategise more in making sure drinking to excess doesn’t devalue club assets: ie, players. Bright would have been a serious asset had he kept straight and narrow.
It’s a waste of a talent. Kevin Thornton springs to mind. Whelan too to a degree.
Maybe the strength of the leadership in the dressing room makes a difference. Dublin, we are told, was a strong role model and maybe that and Strachan putting him up kept Whelan in check for a while. Bright, like many with substance issues, needs / needed a mentor.

This is what I was saying to an Arsenal fan I work with. They have him playing like the clapped out version of Ronaldo that we still see paying for Portugal i.e. hanging around in the box for a cross (that never comes). He needs early service and balls into feet, like you say his best work was playing from deep/wide positions and generally being more involved. The fucker hardly gets a touch at arsenal!He's not playing amazing and maybe it is a step too far. He can do a manageable job for arsenal for sure but would love him back!
Still early days, he may adapt. I think they expect him to be more of a traditional striker whereas we let him dribble from deeper positions etc. so might be tactical issue not talent. And that's no knock on arsenal, they shouldn't change tactic just for vik. It will work out for him either there or somewhere else I'm sure.
