Controversial?That's pretty good.
Travelled the world conning people to pay him for the privilege.Just seen Bright Enobakhare career on Wiki, India, Ukraine, Qatar properly wasted out his talent At 27
and that includes his stint at Wolves.Basically a bunch of places someone with a moderate amount of cash and few morals can live like a king.

How he even has a contract anywhere is beyond me.
His return to us as a permanent signing was utterly bizarreHis agent probably is just constantly showing teams highlights from his first stint here.
He's had a mad career since
Yes Palace away. I seem to remember having it on the radio getting ready for a night out and being really pissed off. Funny what you remember.
Yeah it was an evening game relatively early in the season. Even at that point it was obvious Thorn would get us relegated. It was a midweek game right? Or a night game at least.
He should have gone far earlier than he did. By carrying on he really fucked any chance of a return.Yeah it was an evening game relatively early in the season. Even at that point it was obvious Thorn would get us relegated.
In fairness to him he actually started a few times for Wolves in the Championship, in their championship winning team as well.Enobakhare would’ve been good enough for the championship, no doubt. Ability in the clouds, attitude in the drains.

From what one of the itk types suggested he's bad on the drinkDidn't he just not turn up to training at some point?
There was a player there at some point, but he clearly just couldn't be arsed.

Didn’t he miss the pre season friendly against Wolves for something like that?Certainly was during his loan spell with us. I know for a fact that before one game (can’t remember which now) he’d been out til 4am in Birmingham drinking Hennessy by the bottle.

There was an interview with Davies? and someone else who said his ability was amazing, but ignored team meetings.Didn't he just not turn up to training at some point?

Davies and Grimmer I think. I seen to remember them saying that Robins allowed him to as he was that much better technically than what we already had, but that it also alienated other members of the team. There was an interview with Davies? and someone else who said his ability was amazing, but ignored team meetings.
Think he was so good we had him back thinking we could manage his personality,
Is it true that Hamer gets on the sauce? That's pre-drinks for Hamer and he'd still get at least two assists in the match

Going back to our wilderness 2010’s, I think Enobakhare was the first player I enjoyed watching for maybe 4 or 5 years.
To answer the ending question:Would have thought that with the amount of money around that clubs don’t invest / strategise more in making sure drinking to excess doesn’t devalue club assets: ie, players. Bright would have been a serious asset had he kept straight and narrow.
It’s a waste of a talent. Kevin Thornton springs to mind. Whelan too to a degree.
Maybe the strength of the leadership in the dressing room makes a difference. Dublin, we are told, was a strong role model and maybe that and Strachan putting him up kept Whelan in check for a while. Bright, like many with substance issues, needs / needed a mentor.
What other players have we had that stacked it through drink or drugs?

Exactly that was one of the great individual performances by one of our players. Bright was simply on a different level.Always have that Sunderland away game where he and Bakayoko had the games of their lives
Sean Thornton (Kevin’s older brother) was also a great young talent and played in the Prem before hitting the booze and throwing it away.Exactly that was one of the great individual performances by one of our players. Bright was simply on a different level.
Very few games where I have seen one of our players dominate a game so completely - Huckerby at Leeds boxing day was another example, Vik and Hamer on different levels many times in the Wembley play off season.
As others have said it's so sad to see when players such as Bright have so much talent and basically throw it away. Thornton looked so talented and should have gone higher.
Kevin Thornton, Dublin's brother, Eddie (considered the better prospect) threw careers away. Davies and Grimmer I believe were piss heads. Different times, but the 1987 cup winning squad could hit the booze as could Tommy Hutchison.Sean Thornton (Kevin’s older brother) was also a great young talent and played in the Prem before hitting the booze and throwing it away.
And brief iircHis return to us as a permanent signing was utterly bizarre
