Liked his shithousery, something we have lacked but suffered it from others.
If he does well with his loan I’d have him back.

Norm has the physical attributes and I guess they hoped they could teach the rest, shame his attitude seems so bad.

Ex-Coventry star Kasey Palmer faces uncertain future after falling foul of boss

Funny cos at the time of his move Robins alluded to something like ‘you know what you’re gonna get with Kasey’ once he’d heard there was interest from elsewhere. I.e. probably not work as hard as he should. So had no option but to let him go.
Maybe why he’s so injury prone?

Frank Lampard ‘Made It Clear’ – Coventry City Star Opens Up On Exit

Coventry City out-on-loan attacker Norman Bassette has revealed that Frank Lampard did not want him, but the club wanted to keep him.

Confirms Bassette is definitely not in Frank's plans.

Something has obviously gone on at the training ground that Frank didn't like.

He absolutely rattled Wilder and the Blunt fan base so it's almost worth the waste of money just for that.

I’d imagine Bassette was one who looked very good on the data models and the opportunity came up to buy him, didn’t feel like we needed another striker at the time. I’m in the camp that he definitely has ability but seems some off the field issues with him.

It did seem like a too good an opportunity to miss type signing. What I found interesting in the article was Bassette states, but Frank and his team didn’t want me.

So it wasn’t just Frank, there were obviously issues around his attitude in and towards training. So far more players seem to be developing than not under Frank and his team, so their judgement gets my vote at the moment.

I know it’s just one game but Bassette was given the first 45 minutes at Bristol Rovers and he was awful and way off the pace. I hope he learns from the from his experiences here and gets his career back on track through the loan.

Yeah most likely but Frank Lampard and coaching probably played it up a little to set an example with the rest of the squad. Do it our way or it’s bye bye.

I think in these circumstances and the player feeling aggrieved about his tine at the club it's worth taking what he says with a pinch of salt and not entirely the truth.

Bassette has shown so little to be rated as highly as he is by some. His performances towards the end of the season were unbelievably bad. Feel like people are going purely off one game vs Spurs.

I think there’s definitely a player in there. You’re not getting called up for Belgium if you’ve got nothing to offer. But he was stinking the place out a bit before he left on loan. Probably attitude problems and needs to develop his game somewhere closer to home and more familiar.

Any time you get the chance to spend £2.5m on a kid who scored five goals in Belgium, you take it.

You need game time in men's football in your late teenage years / early 20's. Players who leave for the "Big Club" hardly ever get any game time which then stops their growth. Watched a documentary on youth football and most of the academy graduates first contract is often the best of their careers. Loads get to 20/21, are released and become disillusioned with football and drift out of the game.

Which documentary?

I love stuff like that

Well it wasn’t the most obvious place we would invest that kind of money at the time. So the club must have seen something? That’s what I meant by the, it seemed like a too good an opportunity to miss phrase (as it wasn’t mine).

No obvious issue with his attitude on the pitch. It's only rumoured that his attitude in training isn't great.

It might be just a pure case of Lampard just not seeing how we'd fit in with the way we play, and that is understandable.

must have been someone else Lampard referenced more than once, to have a poor attitude in training then.

Or at least was expecting more game time than their training deserved.

Frank saw what the sensible among us did as soon as he stepped onto the pitch. Neither attitude nor skill at the required level. Ah well Austin can’t win them all.

Starting Bassette in 7 of his first 9 games in charge was mad. No coincide we improved when he was finally dropped.

Bassette played from the 70th minute against a 10 man Wales team.
Wales were losing 0-3 when they had a player sent off in the 62nd minute.

Rookie comes in and thinks he’s better than the seasoned professionals.

I doubt the squad miss him in number or personality.
