Just can't see why anyone would have problem with that.
Seems a genuine statement of love for club and city.
Nice gesture.

Decent lad, barely played for us so don't get the obsession

Like any of us in the same position he has taken the opportunities given and has had a very good career so far. Thought he looked a class above last night when he came on. Something some of our young players should aspire too and is some cases where some of our championship squad will never get too.

Don't think anyone's disputing that.
Still no need to rim him.

My thoughts entirely, especially as he wouldn't have done that if they had lost.

Maddison put a nice tweet out last that didn't come across as arrogant at all but pretty gracious. He comes across well to me. He also played in a Leicester team that got relegated which redeemed him tremendously in my eyes.

It's only good for our academy that its former players talk about it glowingly like that, prospective young footballers can see that and take note.

Just saw the Jay Emmanuel-Thomas drug bust story. Could have sworn he was on loan to us at some point but apparently not. Think I'm lumping him in with other ex prem 'prodigies' we had the pleasure of paying to watch like Frank Nouble and Nathan Delfouneso

Quite a few of our ex players keep in touch with their mates who are still here and have a lot of fondness for the club and fans
What would any of us done in his position?
There are plenty of horrible people in football but Madders isn't one of them

I don't think it's comparable to McFadzean, who was club captain and left the club without a farewell and played us 3 months after.

McFadzean also played 155 matches, Maddison played less than 1800 minutes for the 1st team (incidentally, that's less than Todd Kane).

I'm not an advocate for booing a player just for leaving in an ordinary fashion, like Maddison did, but I don't understand the sycophancy around his 'return'.

*shudders*

I remember persuading a mate to come to Notts County as their first away game that season.

When we bought the tickets, we're flying with Wilson and Clarke up front.

then Clarke gets sold and Wilson smashes his shoulder so it's f'kin Delfouneso leading the line!

Grealish played that game for them. I saw an old mate at half time. Literally all I can remember.

So technically he scored from open play, and supplied his own assist!

What a player.

Typical Palmer.
Be interesting to see if Hull can get him fit enough for 90 minutes. If they can, it won't look good for our training methods.

He can play for 90 minutes. He can perform well for a small chunk of that.

Always showboating, which is spectacular for the small % of times it comes off, and ends in possession being given away the rest of the time. Add in how little ground he covers and it’s brilliant we’ve got a fee for him.

i don’t get why it’s embarrassing, who cares what he does.

in fact there’s this trend where loads of things are now ‘embarrassing’ in modern football culture- wearing shirts, singing certain songs, singing too much so ‘it’s like your cup final’ kissing the badge, the list goes on. The bar is set pretty low for what is “embarrassing” these days.

Yup. Constant negativity now

Eminem new album has a good song about culture today. Talking about how classic loved albums of yesteryear would be panned if they came out today because every thing must be criticised.

Sums him up .Watched him last night lost the ball once again he just stood there as their player went on the attack when he could have been making an effort to atone for his mistake.
He just will not work for the team

it’s like a little clique where everything you do is ‘cringe’ or ‘embarrassing’

people should do what they want- sing, chant, clap, whatever- without idiots who class themselves as ‘too cool’ dictating what they can & can’t do. They’re the embarrassing ones for thinking they are the arbiter of what’s acceptable and what isn’t

Well I did get quite a shock to see how much my old shirts are worth- some are over £250- so the available collection might be about to get a serious culling.

The point is true though, you can’t do anything without some self-ordained judge of good taste piping up & calling it ‘embarrassing’. Usually someone who spends around 8 hours per day on an internet forum arguing with people they’ve never met.
