Haven't they even argued this in the States, comparing the cost of lifers and those executed. With appeals etc they tend to spend years, if not decades, before execution in prison.

Not sure you mean that Pete.

I do the ‘night shift’ so not had a proper night sleep in 4.5 years, as one of the kids wakes up at least once a night, every night. On top of a stressful job, social commitments etc. So I am constantly tired. Pretty sure most parents are in the same boat.

Yet it would never even cross my mind to lash out.

Genuinely zero excuse for hurting a baby. People like that are absolutely vile and deserve a life of absolute torment and suffering.

It's clearly more than just lashing out as well, it is protracted

My son has been a lunatic since the day he was born and I've never once considered physically harming him. Any real parent would die for their child.

A mother and her ex-partner have been jailed for murdering her 18-month old son who suffered 70 injuries and had traces of cocaine in his body.

Some bizarre efforts in there by them to justify biting their own son

It just baffles me of the thought process. Same as people who harm animals.

I get it if people have issues and have a bit of a fight but where does the "I'm going to harm this defense less innocent baby" come from?

I don't think any amount of therapy and rehabilitation is going to fix that. Either kill them or torture them every day, just putting them down would be best. A dog can be killed just because of how it looks.

This is dreadful. Every single one of these so-called teachers needs to be struck off and prosecuted.

One staff member was recorded saying he wanted to drown a pupil “like a kitten” - Panorama undercover.

Disgusting behaviour. Give me 5 minutes in a room with them and I'll fucking show them what. Reading that has genuinely made me furious.

Said to my wife tonight I don’t understand why people like that decided to work with vulnerable children. Then I realised, it was probably just so they could do this.

Just horrible.

That's the worst part, this sort of thing doesn't really come as a surprise anymore.

You can be certain this isn't the only place it's happening.

I know very dedicated people who work with special needs youngsters including my youngest daughter so I hope they don't get tarred with the same brush as these scumbags.
Hopefully there's some prosecutions to follow.

Yeah that’s absolutely true too!
There’s clearly something about low regulation, low almost exploitable pay and profits being the mantra for some owners
Terribly sad

I went down a bit of a SEN web wormhole recently...... Its a very big growth industry and its only going to get bigger & more exploitative....

Massive increase in demand...up over 25% from previous year.
Massive backlog or waitlists in all aspects
Something approaching 20% of all UK kids currently in education with some form of SEN requirement

Just (another) properly fucked up situation.....

They've got access to additional funds through something akin to PFI, it stops in a few years, its going to get substantially worse.

I’ve always had problems with putting people in boxes and labelling them for anything other than arranging support.

The aim is to give everyone the tools to reach their potential and how do you judge that when parents don’t trust teachers to teach

Let’s rehabilitate them

Girl, two, was subjected to 'regime of escalating brutality'

Ipswich Crown Court was told how Scott Jeff, 24, carried out 'callous, cruel and ultimately fatal' assaults on two-year-old Isabella Wheildon, leaving her with multiple fractures and soft tissue injuries.

Why did I click into that, so sickening to read, seems a catalogue of mistakes early on might have prevented this if people had pushed more, but the evil b*stard that did this has no place on this earth. Put him in a room with a group of parents of little children and see how he fares

Another absolutely horrendous case. A father beating his daughter to death with a cricket bat and iron bar.

Behind Sara Sharif’s smile was a life of violence and torture

The 10-year-old was sassy, bubbly and dreamed of being on X Factor, but behind closed doors she was brutally beaten. Why could no-one save her?
