Apart from a number of Sunderland fans recycling hearsay, what actual evidence exists to substantiate the allegations that City fans pelted them with various missiles more than happens whenever and wherever supporters are seated above the opposition?

Have I missed the damning phone footage, the piles of swept up broken glass, the countless bags of shit, bloodied and broken toddlers, battered and traumatised old ladies? If it exists I am surprised at the restraint shown in Sunderland at not widely distributing it.

Or is it all bullshit?

I asked one on twitter where the pictures were of shit being thrown and he said something like 'it isn't exactly like they told them when it was going to happen'. No, you can take a picture of it on the floor though. Fucking melt.

Na, it’s not bull. It was to the left of me and I seen 4 or 5 bottles launched and 1 pyro.

If it was one bottle it's one too many but they're making out it was an onslaught.
The bullshitting cunts.

Hardly like it was raining missiles though. Unacceptable of course but the claims were greatly exaggerated, they were acting like it was something that you’d see in Gaza.

There were bottles thrown into the air when our 4th scored. Very similar to when we scored against Milton Keynes or when England scored at the world Cup.

The problem is when you celebrate goals like that with fans below there is a likelyhood they drop.

Sunderland fans honestly believe we were throwing constant missiles at children. Not the case.

One let alone four or five bottles, is one too many. Absolute bell ends who decide to chuck stuff knowing it will land on folk below (and they knew it would)
But the sunderland reaction from supporters/club/journalists is one of the most embarrassingly jaw dropping, face palming, take myself out to the back yard and harshly chastise myself moments in the history of the world.
I can't imagine they would have gone to these absurd lengths even if they'd lost a home game 5-4 or something equally as absurd.

Bad side of football and you cannot defend it. Our fans that did this are absolute cowardly wankers. Just like the fans that did it to our fans at Man Utd, Wolves and Derby in years gone by.

I'd love to see an example of one game of EFL/EPL football where something hasn't been thrown, when away fans have been sited above the home fans.

Wake up. I haven’t seen one person deny that things were thrown, I saw a few weird flying objects myself - inflatable guitars, peoples’ jackets. What we are denying is that there was a violent, torrential onslaught of missiles. They really have over exaggerated on this at Sunderland. We’ve had things thrown at us at Molineux, Bramall Lane, even Upton Park - and we haven’t reacted like this.

Was excrement launched by our fans? Don’t be so stupid! Yes I’ve seen some primitive City fans, but not to that extreme! Plastic bottles, yes. How about glass? I strongly doubt it. If so, get me some proof. If it was seriously that bad, some proof would have been given. I genuinely believe if they’d have stuffed us 3-0 they’d turn a blind eye to all this missile launching. They are a sour, strange breed those mackems.

I remember being at old Trafford in the 80’s when they were pouring drinks and throwing stuff at us down the gap from the upper tier. Also a coin was thrown and hit a chap on his glasses his son was distraught.
My mate gave the 2 Vs and got thrown out ended up being chased round old Trafford all 2nd half until he could get back on the coach.

Interesting update from the Sunderland Forum, seems like they were arresting Cov lads from early as 12.15pm. Also claiming Cov have been the worst supporters they’ve had up there...not sure on the pyrotechnics part, I’ve seen them let off countless times the last two season at away games.

Also note comments in the same thread about Cov fans causing problems down by the coaches...I noticed Sunderland fans specifically in the area looking for trouble, no other reason for them to be hanging around there.

The police have said 3 Cov fans were arrested. According to that post 2 were arrested in the ground for smoke bombs and multiple arrests prior to that as soon as people were getting off the coaches. Maths obviously not their strong point.

They've lost the plot.

A few bottles thrown when a goal was celebrated and a little bit of handbags inside a pub. They are making out we are Millwall or Galatasary.
