I'd still say we are favourites to beat the drop out of the bottom 5

Be no point sacking a manager that knows how to win league 1 if we were relegated just my 2 cent

Still think we will survive...but by the skin of our teeth. Still believe Wednesday and Brum will finish below us. 4th bottom...last day of season

So every time we have a good game its a "fluke". But if we have bad games then its "our level".... the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

You've also spent months crying that we don't have any decent strikers... now you're moaning that we don't play more than one of them up front.

You're all over the place (as per usual).....

You asked me about the Brentford game not any old game you plum, strikers at the level is what I’ve said walker is better than Biamou and so is Godden agreed he hasn’t been fit but what did robins do in jan ? Brought Gyo in

I would think if you were a Birmingham, weds or Rotherham fan looking for hope and thinking who might fill another relegation spot, you’d be looking at us

If you listened to football fans you would have 10 different teams definitely getting relegated every season

You said we should play more than one up front today?

But Biamou not good enough?
Gyo not good enough?
Godden unfit?
Walker then. That's one up front.

This for me ? I’ll answer anyway
Start Godden & Walker with O’Hare behind them was the one take Godden off as and when was needed the first half chances him or walker finish them same as midweek against Luton

Absolutely, Rotherham will be eyeing up both us and Birmingham and hoping there games in hand will get them out of it. Birmingham are hoping a new manage 'bounce' will save them.

We are hoping Birminghams difficult fixtures will do them in and that Rotherham fixture pile up will catch up with them.

All the teams in the relegation battle are partly relying on other teams being shit to help save themselves.

If I'm an outsider looking at it I would still say we are in a good position to beat the drop.

Unfortunately no, based on today and the likelihood of being without Dabo and Kelly for some or all of the remaining games. Wednesday and Rotherham winning is a double kick in the teeth.

I think what worries me is that everyone bangs on about how terrible the other teams are which would be great if we could hit a cows arse with a banjo but we look truly terrible. Eventually others will catch up

"Eventually"? Like if the others are allowed to find fixtures and carry on playing till June?

I'd like to see biamou and godden up front together for a good proportion of a game. Biamou couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo but he could win the ball for Godden

I really think it's too early to start panicking yet. We have had 2 really encouraging performances in the last month or so, Brentford and Derby. Unfortunately we have had some below par performances as well but as Otis said we have likely got 1 or 2 of those in us still.

By the law of averages we had to have a game against Wycombe that we didn't win at some point.

Rotherham have had a couple of weeks off when everyone else has played 2 games a week, lets see what happens when they have to play 3 games in a week.

Other teams are struggling too, Derby for instance.

Wycombe and Wednesday have nothing to lose now so are going for it, and playing without fear. Other teams with nothing to play for are metaphorically on the beach and will distort results from now on as always happens in the last month or so, this will benefit us as well.

Of course they will if we lose every match or fail to win another match for the rest of the season, other teams will eventually grind out the results to finish ahead if us. I don't think we will fail to win another game though.

I think this relegation battle is going to the last game of the season for sure.

If 50 points make us pretty much safe, that's 11 points from 9 games. Doable but not looking very likely the way we are playing right now. But they say form is temporary, not permanent so we can still turn this around and get to the 50 points but as I say looks unlikely right now.

More realistic is 9 points from last 9 (2 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses) would give us 48 points which may or may not be enough. It could even come down to GD so I am very happy to see Birmingham conceding a lot of goals recently as that effectively gives us another point against them

Maybe, but we are looking up at Derby, Forest, and Huddersfield who are nearer to us than the 3 teams below us in the relegation zone

Looks unlikely right now but still doable, we might not need 50 though. Form can change, I remember us playing milwall when they were on a terrible run and being convinced they would be in a relegation battle by the end of the season and now they are comfortable mid table.

48 points may be more realistic to aim for and hope it's enough.

Didn't see the game today (first one I've missed in months) but still confident enough.

We might not be very good, but I'm still pretty confident that Wycombe, Wednesday, Rotherham and Birmingham are worse than us. Forest and Derby are also shite.

We'll finish above three of those.

Barring the first 10 mins, Wycombe were better than is today in most respects. Wednesday, Rotherham and Blues are better than them.

Forget the current league standings. We are probably the worst team in the league currently.

Some well made points here by SC. only disagree with one, there have been lots of games we didn't win!!
Situation is worrying for sure but its not a desperate situation yet. Surely the 30 plus generation will know there are always twists and turns in a relegation battle. Trick always to avoiding the drop, is don't have a bad run at the very end.
MR is a clever guy don't forget that and he see's a lot more in the background than us. Some choices are surprising admittedly from afar but he deserves our trust and has been an excellent manager twice for us.

And yet despite you saying it for the past 3 months we have managed to scrape enough points in that time along the way to stay above the drop zone (it's not like we were comfortable mid table and have dropped like a stone, we've been in a similar position all season)

We just need to continue to prove you wrong for a little while longer.

Point gained on Derby and Brum so yes still feeling confident. Genuinely shocked by Rotherham but that's why we love football so much so many twists and turns, the beautiful game!

Today was a massive disappointment for sure but we are not the first team wycombe have taken point off this season, were they all the worst team in the league when they failed to beat wycombe?

The form says Sheffield Wednesday, derby, forest, wycombe, Preston are all worse than us over the last 6. Rotherham are 1 point better than us and Birmingham 2 points better than us which is a slight worry.

Forget the league standings? That's literally how leagues are decided

According to the league table we are better than Birmingham, Rotherham, Wednesday and Wycombe.

Important oddschecker relegation update.
10/1 relegation odds shortened dramatically to around 4/1. Birmingham still viewed as most likely 3rd relegation spot takers.
Interestingly Derby now seen as less likely to go down than us despite a narrow defeat today and we got a draw.

Were you not around for the Don Howe season, when Notts County saved us by beating Luton? More recently Coleman's team that finished off with a battering at Charlton was another example of surviving thanks to others, rather than it being of our own doing.
