No it wasn't.

You said you can just bin some of them which is the opposite of what you have been banging on about.

If they are potential good candidates, they will have met the criteria. If they are nonsense, they will get ignored.

It isn't rocket science.

The criteria is subjective not a tick list.
If you’ve taken the time to write a CCFC specific covering letter you deserve a reply.

Sometimes constructive criticism helps the club but to just accept everything they say makes them believe all is well and nothing improves or changes.

You said some can be binned? Make up your mind.

Just the usual tying yourself up in knots by chatting shit.

If the club feel that their criteria matches, then obviously they will get a reply and go further. If they don't, they won't.

It's really not complicated to understand.

This thread is going well. Some good news about improving how the club is run and italia can't wait to jump all over the thread trying to drag it down.

Yeah that's common place now, and even if you do get acknowledgement from then they usually say they can't give feedback. I'm still waiting to hear if got shortlisted for a job I applied to in February, interview was due to take place on 5th March.....that was at one of the 2 universities and I met all of the essential criteria. Still no email....

Thats the point.
People who have put thought into an application and perhaps written a job specific letter (as requested here) are serious and expect a reply.
If not they will continue to check things like junk mail for weeks maybe months.
A simple generic email where the appliers email is just added as a BCC can be sent at the end of the day to all those rejected. (Seconds per application)

Okay, those that just sent a generic CV can maybe in this instance justifiable be ignored.

If the auto response I received when I applied for the disabled rep says a reply will be made in 5 days I expect a reply.

Glad to see the club are doing what they should have been doing years ago but other than thanking the OP for making us aware of the Job I can't see what else he wants from the thread other than a round of applause for the club and no comments on the detail or the poor process.

Can't make excuses these days for not replying.
Just add their email onto one standard email and send it out at the end of the day.

Not criticising the job just the process that will put some people off applying.

Externals don’t get a reply as an average of 500 apply for every job

It’s not though is it? Your “experience” regarding JLR and it’s pension plan was bollocks. Oh mate of mine whose two levels below management got £925,000 in his Bank last week.

External applicants often aren’t regretted - clueless.

There is an underlying problem with job applications for CCFC where it seems take it or leave it.
Press Officer was a classic where you 'must' be available for interview on the Friday afternoon 22nd September.

At JLR when I was there, unsuccessful candidates were never ignored. Standards have dropped if thats the case.

How dare a potential employer expect you to make yourself available for interview. Bet you'd never find that anywhere but CCFC.

"Must be available" on one specific Friday afternoon. is a bit take it or leave it, particular for quite an important and highly qualified job.
Don't you agree?
Certainly sets the scene for a great job environment.

Most jobs will have an interview date in the advert. Rightly or wrong, things have moved on very few employers respond to unsuccessful candidates, and most companies have interview date in the advert.

I know JLR is used to getting the world's leading Oxbridge and Harvard graduates, who can only aspire to plating the execs' shoes in gold... but just about every job I've gone for has expected me to be available on a certain day for interview. Nor do I get replies if I don't get the gig.

Can understand that for some jobs but its just the word 'must' that gets me. More of a essential requirement.
"Interview date" seems a little more negotiable if you have a reason.

Seems things have moved on then.
IMHO it's not right. Particularly if now days you don't have to write and post a letter,

Maybe, but tbh I tend to find the generic cut and paste rejections more condescending than being ignored. At least there's something genuine in being ignored, rather than the fake platitudes about the high standard of applications (especially if the job then gets re-advertised!).

And yeah, things have moved on. Given the number of interviews I fail, I'd say not for the better

Don't agree in the slightest. Its the way it is everywhere. An interview date is given and if you can't make it you miss out. You might not like it, I might not like it but its the case with pretty much every job.

I'd say that the salary for this job is £10k-£15k under industry average. Hopefully there is somebody very well qualified who loves CCFC and is willing to take a pay cut.

Might be the case for most jobs but I suggest the more important jobs you might have a bit of flexibility to get the best candidate.
If your unemployed its not normally a problem but if your employed it might be.
Not saying this is not what happens but I am saying it's not right in my mind.

Yes because defined benefit schemes work on a simple calculation - length of service bond values and age. So anyone who is 56 and has been in a scheme for 40 years gets a huge transfer value at the moment as the scheme is calculating its payments on the person living to average age of 82 and taking full benefits out grad scheme on retirement.

So yes you are clueless and I know you are a bullshitter when you talk about your mates still there - as if they are still there they’d know as they’d have cashed in. I don’t know anyone near retirement age who hasn’t because guess what - you can carry on working and paying into the new scheme at the same time.
