Doesn't always work, either. He's been sacked a lot and had a fair few flops and relegations as well as the promotions over the years. Ask Oldham, Bury and Leeds fans what they think of him, for example. And you can't like a man after seeing this:

I think that's from a much longer clip that someone else posted on here. Most of it's the f-word!

Warnock players must respect him though as centre half is a big old animal to take on.

Comparing him to warnock I kinda get, although I had a sneaky admiration for warnock and what he achieved with the teams he managed ... while I have nothing but resentment for Evans. But comparing him to fergie , LOL Come on...
His assistant is a Evans wanna be, which is sad enough on its own, but the fact that no one even knows his name, and refers to him as ‘ Evans assistant’ shows what a sad job he has ... total muppet, throwing his hands up and turning round to let the crowd and his manager know he disagrees with every decision... even when it’s a corner to his own side !
How people like that continue to get work in management is beyond me and a bad reflection on the game

Paul Raynor, Evans assistant for years and years. A double act they are from non league days. But in reality who knows who many assistants names are. I’d wager a few on here don’t know ours let alone others from the premier league down the leagues.

If the FA don’t clamp down on behaviour in the technical area then antics will continue forever, they have known like we do what they do as well as others in the game and they rarely get follow up sanctions to make them change the ways

Neil Warnock. Another manager who’s a huge character, with a huge desire to win and not afraid to say what he thinks about the officials and plays football a unfashionable simple way, gets his players fired up. So is disliked as a result.

Several promotions from the majority of the top 5 leagues over a long managerial career, a few jobs not worked out which is inevitable for many a manager.

I like him too.

You make it sound as if abusing officials is an admirable thing to do. Referees get things wrong, but in almost all cases they are honest mistakes, the same as players and managers themselves. Football is a passionate game and I moan and groan at decisions the same as every one else. There are some referees who seem to be career refs, have never played the game themselves. However, who ever they are, they don't deserve the abuse that people like Evans and Warnock give them in their efforts to gain an advantage. No referee will generally mean no game. I would really like to see Evans or Warnock in the middle. Evans would no doubt conk out after about ten minutes and end up on the floor like a stranded whale.

Its not admirable no it’s excessive to the extent they do it. Tho I’d like a manager of my team to be vocal when needed than to not say anything with his hands in his pockets.
MR is a reasonably quiet guy, yet speaks up when absolutely necessary but oggy and Viveash usually do it for him during the game.

The point I’d like a manager to be outspoken is time like last year when we seen some terrible refs, very poor they were yet managers often drift over that fact in fear of a fa charge.
If that official has been poor and cost you a game come out and say it to the fans and say you’ll be in touch with the fa with the quality of the official been allocated for review of his performance.

Neil Warnocks actually a qualified ref*

My point wasn’t aimed at you specifically.
Yes both similar characters they are that’s worked together many years, clowns in the technical area but have a history of getting sides promoted so must have some ability between them.

Maybe they should both tone down the antics and people would look at there ability manage/coach a football team not the way they behave for 90 mins.

The thing is the only people who can stop this in the game is the FA, Evans and Raynor do what they do weekly as does warnock. It’s not new and the FA allow it to carry on and then behave like this for decades.

The balls well and truly with the FA

At least their fans are not fooled by his comments...... Taken from their forum

Did Evans really say we battered them first half and could have had 3 or 4 goals? Fuck me - there's putting a positive spin on your performance and then there's being deluded. Coventry were the only team playing any football especially through midfield (that little fucker ran the show) and we just parted like the Red Sea when they came at us.

If Cov could have taken their chances we'd have been 3 or 4 down by half time.

He did, but he clarified his position today because it attracted criticism from his own fans as well as ours.

The amended version said that they created the best chances, but we were more fluent in midfield, which is a fair assessment. We had more possession, more corners and an equal amount of shots so was rightfully called out for his claim that it was ‘an absolute hiding’.

He went on to add they had eight chances or so, and has very clearly conflated half chances and clear cut chances. They had about 3, maybe 4 clear cut chances to our 2 (including all the goals). Aside from that, their striker Toney had about 3-4 wild shots that were nowhere near the target and just padded the stats really.

Why would we want the opposition manager to speak to our press? Does that usually happen?

How would you like me to answer that? I dont have the stats for you sorry.
If the press from a team we have played asked to speak to Mark Robins and he ran down the tunnel spitting his dummy out and say I am not speaking to anybody from Bradford (for example) I would call Mark Robins in such circumstances a childish knob.

I havent got a clue. However I think it is unlikely that it has never happened before and even if this is the first time an opposition manager has ever been asked to speak to local press the response in my opinion was that of a knob.

I don’t think it does, and lets be honest in the interviews our local press do they are not worth the time of day. You’d be lucky if you got more info than....
Question 1, was you happy with the result?
Question 2, did you do enough to win?
Question 3, Ivan Toney is strong ain’t he
Question 4, what do you feed your left back, tall isn’t he
Question 5, what time you due back in Peterborough tonight, will you be Christmas shopping tomorrow now.

I see at the end of MR interview on the radio he was asked if he’d spoken to Steve Evans to which he replied I’ve no need to. We shaked hands and that’s it

The press tried to make something of nothin in the week before too.
