Apparently all clubs in European football have committed to finish the season by June 30th including our own leage EFL
There are 104 days till the end of June deadline- (over 25 weeks)
67 days (approx 10 weeks) till the start of the first week of May the very last chance when you would need to start to complete fixtures - from that point fixtures could be completed in 5 weeks (approx 2 games a week) would take you 30th June -
This is discounting Play offs which would have to be thought through - Maybe no plays off - straight promotion and relegation

Not particularly good for us this. Current thinking is that we'll be hitting the worst of this around May time, I don't see it being possible to finish the season by the end of June which would mean us entering null and void territory.

Its going to slow down in 2-3 weeks apparently due to the new measures put in place, hopefully if thats the case then we can play behind closed doors

Makes perfect sense. All the players of all teams should be clear of it by then.

Behind closed doors, allow iFollow for all games for every team.

And me. Plus it seems the most sensible and compromise. We all want the season finished one way or the other and there is no good solution here. It’s the best we can make of it.

playing behind closed doors for a month whilst not great by any means.... it keeps disruption at a minimum and the season will get finished for everyone so then everyone can go off again and plan for the new season.

I think they may relax the IFollow 3pm Saturday rule to help clubs raise some revenue. It's not like it can affect attendances.

Some may not be able to afford £10 a game though. It would be fine by me, but of course so many people will be laid off, or on statutory sick pay, or without any income at all.

It will be a luxury many can ill afford and of course you can't just all pile round a mate's house, or go down the pub.

People are going to be bored witless at home too.

If they are going to charge, it will have to be dirt cheap I would have thought.

Yeah thats the other argument for it being cheap, i don't know what to think about anything atm so who knows what could happen!
Could be free with a contribution option if people wanted to pay some towards the club?

If they couldn’t afford the £10 then they would t be going to the game anyway.

should only be available to ticket holders to the game

I think it being free with a contribution option would be good, because if people wanted to put money into the club they could and if people can't afford it for no reason of there own then they can still watch the game

Think there should be a charge. The club are missing out on significant sums by not having fans at games. Also, not sure the ifollow infrastructure would cope if it was a free for all.

Would be good to see it being free to ST holders whether home or away, to make up for missed matches. For the rest of us maybe they could do a rest of season pass at a reduced rate and if people want to pick and choose games still then they pay the standard £10. This should help make up some of the shortfall that clubs will have.

Probably not too much in terms of solid information. Would be good to see some sort of base plan to get the season finished though. What time is the meeting?

It would all depend on how quickly fans could also get back watching the clubs live....

Bit unfair given the current circumstances.

No sport, no pubs, no restaurants, no cinema, no theatre and all told to stay indoors.

It is an unprecedented situation.

The other argument is what else you going to spend your money on? You’ve saved all those visits to the pub.

My main concern is the clubs survive through the period to be honest.

Some will have no money at all.

If you had a decent job and are now on £95 a week, or getting absolutely nothing, you will have zero in terms of disposable income.

True. But that’s the case all year round even without a pandemic. Sadly the clubs aren’t a charity and the players would want paying. I hope the government announces something closer to other countries in terms of support for workers today.

It's not the case all year round, Shmmeee. For people who have a decent job, but are now on statutory sick pay due to this outbreak?

They are talking about paying people £95 a week aren't they?

Shmmeee, Otis is right, it isn't all year round. My daughter works in a pub, and it's been closed due to coronovirus, so she's gone from a full time wage to Employment Support allowance of £75 per week, even less than ssp! And we don't know how long the pub will be closed for, even if it will still be in business when life returns to 'normal' whatever that will be.

I meant there’s always people on sick pay. I get your argument but it doesn’t help if by doing that the club have to let go of people and they earn even less on benefits.

If they pay people SSP then we are going to have a massive demand problem in the economy, I really hope they announce something more.

Of course the easy option is the government bail out the lower league clubs on the condition of free access for the rest of the season to keep spirits up.

Good luck banning mass gatherings when teams start winning things though
