Remember to get your tickets folks, 100 millionaires tonight as well as being a jackpot of 105 million.

Just spent a tenner on tickets.

Marty I have just been and bought 2 scratchcards and won £5. I have now reinvested that on 3 tickets for tonights Euros. I'll do you a deal. If I win the Jackpot I'll give you a Million, if you win you give me a million?

You're just jealous cause you're not in on the deal. Don't worry I might spare you a bit if I do win big.

50? Are you mental? Have you seen the odds?

5 numbers + 2 bonus balls 1 in 116,531,800
5 numbers + 1 bonus balls 1 in 6,473,989
5 numbers 1 in 3,236,995
4 numbers + 2 bonus balls 1 in 517,920
4 numbers + 1 bonus ball 1 in 28,774

The average winning amount for 4 numbers + 1 bonus ball = £145. So you get 5 numbers out of 7 and win £145.

The odds are truly shocking.

Try telling that to Miss Carrington and Mr Topham.

Well I did have a go, but would never dream of putting so much on.

Always just put a pound on the Thunderball (more chance of winning). Anyway, won £10 on the Thunderball on Wednesday, so had 5 goes on the Euromillions for tonight.

Wouldn't put anymore on than that though.

I last bought a lottery ticket about 7 or 8 years ago. That was after I had faithfully bought a couple every week since the start and only ever won about four tenners in all those years. Then just once I hit FOUR numbers!! My prize? £28! Just 28 f**king quid!
I swore I would never bother again and never have! I have had more wins on the scratch cards. I buy 2 each week and often come away with a small win - and I don't buy more scratch cards with my winnings!

Yep, well that's it in a nutshell.

On the Thunderball there are 5 numbers + the Thunderball.

I once got 4 out of the 5 numbers. 4 out of 5!!

Fantastic!!!!!!!! Or so i thought.

I won £100. £100 for 4 out of 5 numbers,

Had that been the horses I would have been up by thousands.

There's "Having a flutter" and "Having a flutter"! I would rather slap a tenner down on a 5/1 horse in a 10 horse race coz the odds are far better!

I would rather go for the bigger prize at the expence of 'far better odds' £50 just hasn't got the wow factor for me.

If you want better odds, then you should stick your money in a savings account.

A savings account!!?? What? Fuck me! Great return eh? "Put £1000 in our bank and we'll give you 2.7% interest after a year" So that means, I don't get to see my £1000 for a year and then it's only increased by £27!! Yeah right! Thanks mate! Great advice!
You throw away your money on a no-chance lottery if you want. I'll put mine where it'll do the best!

Agreed, Houch. I only usually do the Thunderball. Win quite regularly on it but the winnings aren't much. You accept that though if you have more chance of winning. Won £10 on Wednesday and £20 last night. Have won £100 once and £300 once. The Euromillions is twice as much a ticket and you have phenomenally less chance of winning owt. People go for the Euromillions because of the big prize but then end up winning nothing.

But based on your point that you are more interested in "far better odds", you are not interested in great returns, just "far better odds" so on that basis then you should stick it in a bank.

Listen i'll do what I want with my money and you do what you want with yours.

Is that really that hard ?
FFS !!

Gaz, you admitted you spent £100 on the Euromillions on Friday and told everyone on an internet forum. Not being funny but what do you expect?

Yeah maybe you are right, on this forum I should have expected that some dick head would try and turn a conversation on lottery into an argument.

Don't think he is trying to argue. Just trying to comprehend your thinking,

Fair play to him, If he can afford to spend £100 on lotto tickets and that's what he wants to spend it on, then fine, don't think any of us have the right to say what he can and can't spend his money on.

£100 for me is excessive and wouldn't dream of putting that on (which is why I didn't).

If he's got £100 to just fritter away like that he should have got his butler to go and put the numbers on for him.
