Did excellently for us as caretaker back in the good days, him and Bruce could be out soon? Get him as boss, cant do any worse than Thorn/Harrison. And Carsley as assistant or Richard Shaw off Millwall?

He would never come back after the way the board treated him. He also seems happy to be an assistant manager.

does not matter who we bring in chaps - we are down. Unless someone comes in before January with millions to spend on players but thats not going to happen so stick with Thorn - look at it at the end of the season and try to rebuild in the 1st division with the young kids and possibly a new manager - Alex Ferguson could not keep us up!!!

Turned us down when things looked better for the Sky blues.
I hardly think, he would jump Naked, into a Barrel of unstable "Nitro Glycerine" which is what we are now.
The world and its dog, Know the awful lack of availiable finances at CCFC, Big named managers, look highly unlikely,they would insist on being paid on a regular Basis, and not have to chase their Salary cheque on a weekly Basis.
Whereas OGGY & co Would ??????????

Yes Black was great but it'll always be a case of "what if". What if he had've stayed and it'd gone down hill? Or maybe he would have been a great manager. We'll never know and that's OK for me. The Board made a mistake at the time but that's all in the past.

if we have to change our manager then it'll be someone new and experienced. I would like Keith Hill or someone like that.

It has become a parlour game among supporters that when things are tough (as they invariably have been over the past six or seven years) , there is a competition to see who can be the first one to mention Black's name in connection with the managerial position. This ship has well and truly sailed and it's time we all moved on.Sadly if things continue the way they are, I sense we'll be subjected to these posts for quite a while longer.

I'm a huge Black fan, and it did occur to me yesterday that with Bruce under pressure he could be available. But then I thought:

1) He seems a pleasant and intelligent fellow. So, he'd run a mile from us, and with good reason.
2) This is a bit like getting dumped, being on a long losing streak, and wishing you were still going out with that girl you unceremoniously dumped a few years back. Try giving her a call, see what she says to you about getting back together...the second word of the reply will probably be "off", and so should Blacks!
3) I thought Black was a fantastic manager, but then I-and most of the fans who remember him fondly-would have ended up with a very similar view of Andy Thorn if we'd let him go last summer. Black maybe wasn't here long enough to fail? With the resources we have now, I'd say it's guaranteed that he would.

Black's results were far more impressive than Thorn's at the back end of last season but I get your point.

I spoke to Eric Black in the Summer, and he would not return to CCFC....he is happy in a coaching role, and would only take a managerial role where he has some chance of success (i.e some money). His son is a Cov fan and goes to the games, EB still has a house in Leam, and was quite stunned when I told him about things at the club, he said he knew it was bad, but not that bad...

Don't think we should go back down the Eric Black route anyway, he had his time and it would be a big gamble for him anyway, best to let it be just that the past and move on with this one.
He's quite happy anyway I should imagine at the moment being bruce's second in command, proberly would want to manage some top end championship club anyway if he decided to go back into management more chance of achieving success.
We could do with someone who wants to make a point that they are a good manager and lets be fair we could do with a magician at the moment to conjure up this survival trick.
Has Harry Houdini got any family members in management
