I hope he comes good (but I’m not holding my breath).
Judge him at the end of the season!!!
No - we judge all the players game after game don’t we - just like Mark Robins does - if they’re crap he puts them on the bench or leaves them out until they prove they deserve a spot in the team (re Fabio) - nobody is being harsh but we say what we see and right now I see a player with little or no end product.
What’s the point of beating your man then crossing it to one of his team mates - as I said at the start of this post “I hope he comes good”.

The whole Mason-Clark transfer saga, even taking his performances for us out of account, really makes look like an absolute amateur really. No wonder MacAnthony was full of praise for King, he had his pants down. I notice that option on another Peterborough player we always managed to negotiate as part of the deal also never materialised.

Well the "option" was always a meaningless phrase and another thing taken out of context by our fans.

Think you could be right, we seem to be buying the supposedly better league 1 players, Kitching, Collins, EMC etc and it doesn't seem to be working. Your O'Hare, Sheaf, Gykores. Hamers from lower end top flight clubs do.

If you’re buying out of L1 it should be young players not 24/25 year olds.

In a stat driven world , mason clark was a player identified by pretty much everybody as one that could step up ..

It's still far too early to write the lad off , Thomas and kitching are not bad signings either , we haven't played a single game with our best holding midfielder either .

Some of the vitriol shown to players on here is embarrassing at times. He's not been great so far but he has been involved which is positive, the expectation seems to be weighing on him a bit. We've been here more than once now with writing players off, we'll add EMC to the SBT "he's shit" hall of fame with:

McNulty (McWankty)
Chaplin
Gyokeres
Simms
Wright

You are right but at the moment he is not offering solutions either.

I am prepared to be be patient with him because coming from League One I never expected him to hit the ground running.

One of our biggest problems are fans who think every signing will immediately be a superstar and totally unrealistically propelled us to be automatic promotion candidates?

Its a very competitive league and we have no right just to walk into the top six.

At the moment we are a long way off but the season can be saved. Mark Robins and his staff have a lot of work to do. But it is early days as a group.

Competitive being the operative word and we haven’t been.

Don’t let’s pretend on the back of the home win against Oxford in the league and 70 minutes of a Watford or Tottenham match that we have.

Without stating the bleeding obvious 70 minutes isn’t 90+

What on earth are you talking about? There is no game where we have not been competitive.

The Simms and Wright threads from last season are good examples of this. Proper roller coasters.

One week some want to send Wright back to Turkey as soon as the transfer window opens and another week he's one of the best strikers in the league

Gyokeres wasn’t even playing for Swansea when we picked him up. I’d sure people would have preferred us to sign a top end L1 striker at the time we signed Vik.

COH’s experience before us was Carlisle in L2, Sheaf on the back of L1 performances with DRFC. Hamer was signed from a lower end Eredivisie side whom many questioned the transfer at that time because of what happened with Kastaneer.

It’s a forum, so people can obviously say what they like however they feel. Up until January last season, all we heard was how bad Simms and Wright were and how we should’ve signed ‘proven quality’.

Even the Kitching point, we have conceded nearly 2 goals a game with Binks playing CB and at some point we’ll end up going back to Kitching and Thomas because they’re just better defenders than Lati and Binks (imo).

I think it's largely to do with the expectation level again. He was a massive player for Peterborough Utd, and as yet we haven't seen anything like his previous form.
(Granted he hasn't had a run of games yet)

He was one of the most promising of the "big money" additions, and we waited months for his arrival, and so far he's been less than impressive.

Hopefully he can start to settle in and show us why we splashed out millions for him.

But that was in League 0ne. It's a big step up to Championship Level. Players he is up against week in week out are going to be quicker and smarter. Fans need to be more realistic and give him time to adjust and find his feet.

Can't believe what I am reading at times. EMC was a serious player in L1. He's stepping up a division and we are 6 games in. He's also dealing with Wright (one of the best players in the division in the second half of last season) being ahead of him in the position he plays. The longer term game plan (next season) is that EMC replaces Wright if we cash in. Just give our players a chance and support - in my view EMC has shown his potential already - never do understand the need to write our players off by some on here. Completely counterproductive.

Some just feel the need to do it. The fee we paid is, in effect, peanuts in today’s game. Allow him time to settle for crying out loud.

Genuinely feel he’ll be a great signing for us ….. needs a run in the team at LW. Unfortunately for him our record signing plays there. Which makes it a weird signing like Bassette in terms of squad needs. But both will be good in the long run.

A pacey, strong winger than can cross the ball with either foot and scored 15 goals from Left wing last season doesn't look like a £4m player in today's market?

he's taking a bit of time to settle into a new team/system sure but he's going to be a very good player for us over the next few years.

Fair play to him, m.o.m today, and starting to show what he has to offer, it's taken a while and it took a bad injury to Wright to get him a run in his best position. But now he's in the team on merit.

He's going to give FL food for thought once Wright is fit again.

He was so close to scoring in his first few games to be fair. He always looked like him could do it but just lacked confidence.

Honestly I'm buzzing I hope he kicks on and does what Haji and Eillis did last season. He fully deserves all the praise he gets for today's performance he was unplayable.

Played brilliantly today but the song is absolutely awful. Can’t believe we’re about to fumble Dancing In The Dark for another “down the wing/make the City sing” tune.
