12 goals and 6 assists so far this season…I’d imagine if he carries on the way he’s going there’s going to be a scramble to sign him in the summer.

We’re a funny bunch, meltdown that he’s not coming in now!?

We’re onto something good, and I’m all for it. Let the good times roll.

Yeah deffo. Clubs will be queuing up and his price will be sky high.

Think there needs to be a reality check among some fans. Better to sign players you think are quality in half a season's time as opposed to missing out entirely, plus in consecutive windows it's been us landing a player from somewhere else on deadline day as opposed to having our squad raided.

It does mean though that this play off challenge will quite likely peter out under the buckle of injuries and fitness, but maybe a run in the cup can offset some of that disappointment.

Have an opportunity for a big day in the cup so that might be our focus this season

Also means we roll into next pre season with the biggest and best squad of owned players we've had since the Premier league

If it's true, I don't find it particularly odd at all really.

Could just simply be that this was the only way we could get him in.

If he's as good as they say he is, it was surely worth doing the business now.

Will still need to replace Godden of course, probably COH, but aside from that I'm not sure we'd need to buy anywhere else. Then sit back and watch Gyokeres get sold to add some more cash we can put aside for future windows where it's needed.

Would like to have seen us have a bit more of a gamble this season while we're in the position to do it though

My main concern is Sakamoto. He's played every minute of our last 7 league games, it just isn't sustainable.

The slightly more mentalist among us might suggest putting MVE up in that position instead if needed, with Lati at RB

Assuming O'Hare leaves,AM, Striker, CM, in that order. Maybe make Binks perm too.

Tbf I'd imagine most general football fans have heard of him. He's had a good couple of seasons at that level.

Agree with that. Burroughs to return too to help at RB, add in those 3 signings and you have a strong Championship squad.

I don't like it when you end up having to compromise two positions instead of just having a backup for one

It’s not ideal but youve still got Palmer and O’Hare who could fill in .

Quite, which is why we should've signed someone to play right wing

I suggested that a few days ago It's not ideal but I reckon MVE would make a decent fist of it. He certainly has the pace to do it.

I think the only other options are to change the formation or possibly play Simms wide right but I'm not sure about that.

Think people are letting their feelings about lack of signings now cloud their judgement of this signing.

If this guy is as good as he seems, then this could be a fantastic shrewd purchase that makes total sense. As a standalone signing this is excellent and exactly the kind of long term planning that the club should be doing.

The fact we haven't sorted cover for our forwards is a separate issue - and should be questioned as its hard to see saka and co managing to keep it up for the whole season without a rest. It does feel like they might be writing off a promotion push this year- which given our league position would be a bit of a disappointment.

Palmer seems to be back up for LW/CAM/RW right now, so he's likely playing elsewhere (as he has been recently)

O'Hare compromises our attacking midfield.
