How it should work. Keeps a decent little club ticking over, and increases the chances of them unearthing (and hopefully us picking up!) another gem.

Great decision by king not to cancel the transfer just because pBoro refused to let him come immediately. Some fans said he got done over in the talks but it's obvious it was a case of this deal or no deal

Spot on there, Doug King making the correct decisions like he has the majority of the time. The amount of moans when he was instantly loaned back!

Glad he didnt cancel the transfer as hes one of my favourite players but we had poor squad depth in 23/24 towards the end it fucked us after the cup run

None of it matters now

League form dropped of a cliff as soon as Sakamoto got injured. Would EMC have worked out right? Not sure but we were crying out for a winger.

But as usual Doug is vindicated in the end.

Too many people fell for what McAnthony described as a discount for waiting, and said it showed King was a cheapskate selling Robins short for £500k.
When that was actually the loan fee for him to stay there until the end of the season.

So we loaned him back and still have to pay an extra 17% by the sound of it. We really did prise him off them

Think in hindsight the coaching team imploding would have overridden any cup run or squad changes.

There was times last season I was one of only about 3 or 4 on here that could see his potential, he's my favourite player currently, worth every penny, so exciting to watch and I think he'll do well in the prem.

I love that DM engages with fans like this. You don't have to agree with everything he says, but he genuinely cares about his club and is open and honest with what he does. Good club too, one of the few I've never really disliked.
