Simon and Adi catch up for part two of their interview. This section covers the Championship era, the play-off final and FA Cup semi-final and working with the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Gustavo Hamer.

Please check out part one if you haven't already, and give us a follow on Spotify to hear all of our latest episodes.

Fascinating. Interesting that Adi never once uses MR's name.

Having now listened to this and Kings account etc if we had the choice of either getting MR and Adi back Id prefer Adi. I think our previous success was more down to Adi than Robins

Spot on.
Same with Jones and Edwards, if they turn out to be successful for us it's down to Lampard for bringing them in.

Superb manager for us for a good while, until it went tits up and he wasn’t and his CCFC story ended ignominiously.

N.B. I’m blaming a man

Robins was a great manager for us and will never be forgotten
His record without Adi, here and at other clubs, so far, has not been poor but not great either.
The test will be at Stoke where he will have a bit of money, possibly more than us to spend depending on Stoke's owners.

So i just listened to this .

Simon sounded a bit choked up at the end , he like many of us were very sad that the whole thing came tumbling down the way it did over that period of time .

But mark and adi really did give us great times , the best actually

Its going to be a hard period to top , it was certainly a great time to be following the club

They’ve both put us in a position to hire the likes of Lampard and realistically challenge regularly for promotion back to the top flight.

Has there ever been a more influential No2 at this club ? No wonder MR and AV fell out after listening to this, what a knowledge man ! I guess two strong minded individuals eventually it would end in Divorce.

I’ve never heard AV talk before but when he gave that telegraph interview and now this podcast it certainly does reopen the debate as to who was the brains over the last 7 years.

Think a few need to take note of his comments on O'Hare - all the players who were part of the journey deserve respect and only a handful played a bigger role than him

I enjoyed part 2 much more than part 1.

Adi very skilled at only saying what he planned to say in the first place but seemed a genuine football guy.

Just finished it.
Cracking interview.
His high opinion of Palmer at odds with a few on here!
Really interesting what he had to say about Vik.

Yeah it was really noticeable wasn't it. So familiar and friendly about almost everyone he worked with at the club, and then "the manager".

Great chap Adi, as I'm sure MR was. Such a sad break up and still a lot of bitterness between them. If I was Frank (or manager of another club) I would be getting AV in tomorrow.... and big Dennis.

Just listened to the second part and another great interview.

I found myself feeling quite emotional when he talked about the playoff defeat and the dressing room afterwards and how tough it was.

Spoke very highly of every single person he encountered at the club apart from 'the manager'.

Only just listened to the interviews and he's a top person.
Some of the stuff posted on here about him and certain players has been shown as utter bollocks - surprise, surprise.

I don’t think you should expect an interview with Adi to be the source of whether he had a great relationship with every player.

Adi comes across incredibly well but also very on message.

Of course not but the idea that certain players were pushing for him to be sacked was obviously nonsense.

As always, the truth will be somewhere in the middle. There was tension between AV and certainly some of the newer crop, in terms of various bits. Heard that first hand from squad member.

people desperate for this to be black and white, there can be elements of truth in all strands of what happened.

Really sad thing is the clear relationship breakdown between MR and AV.

I don’t doubt it but the idea that players orchestrated to get him sacked was clearly not the case. It was clear the idea of him being labelled as a bully had had a clear impact on him.
As you said, the main reason was their breakdown in the relationship. Not even being able to bring himself to name MR was very sad.

Just listened to both podcasts , he doesn't mention MR once by name ,in fact he mentions the Fizzy Moon pub in Leamington more often.

As a side note tho, he’ll have to be careful with his wife if the rumours about Edward’s are true
