A great counter attack and finish though.

We would have gone back to the keeper.

Awful free kick leads to break away goal, boring performance from us. Fair play Senegal, they’ve wanted it a lot more than we have

Absolutely , if anything we are seeing much of the same , we might even be more boring

I mean I don’t particularly care but it feels to me like there’s a lot of substandard players getting England caps more recently. Chalobah and Madueke I’m really not feeling, Gallagher feels miles off every time he plays, not massively sold on Curtis Jones albeit he’s had an ok season.

The same man who oversaw a 4-1 thrashing at home by Hungary?

Disaster of an international break for TT. How many of that Senegal team would you pick over our players? Maybe 2-3 at a push.

There's a pretty ominous problem on the horizon with Harry Kane probably being good for just one more major tournament. There's nobody who comes close to replacing him out of the current pool

Friendlies are the chance to have some fun and experiment. Quite why Southgate and now Tuchel used it to just continue trotting out the same old shit I don't understand

If anything, he needs to find a consistent team that he can rely on to win games. This is a petty example, but playing Jones at RB v Andorra is pointless. At least when Southgate played Trent at CM, he intended to actually play him there in a major tournament (which failed ofc).

Tuchel talks a good game, let’s see how he handles the grilling of the media. The pressure will be on.

The FA must have Carsley in mind as a potential replacement for Tuchel in an emergency situation. He had one blip v Greece where he experimented but the other performances were convincing.

The suggestion on the main forum that Lampard could be the next permanent England manager really isn't that silly. If he manages to take CCFC to another top 6 finish or better, the FA could do worse.

Probably the same reason CCFC played that random friendly in Germany last summer

Liam Delap should be in the next few camps if he gets off to a good start at Chelsea.

Sipping on my copium here, Spain’s manager got off to a rocky start, losing 2-0 v Scotland and they went on to dominate the Euros as dark horses. I’m hoping TT is on a similar trajectory.

Senegal are the best team we’ll face before the World Cup and we were soundly second best.

I’ve said before, and it still applies, that we don’t know what we want from the team. I’ll caveat this by saying I’ve only watched the last 30 mins of tonight, but if Kane is dropping deep you need your wingers and 10 running into the space. Our wingers want too much time on the ball and slow it down. They move narrow without genuine overlaps which just makes everything stodgy.

If we get promoted, absolutely.

I genuinely think Carsley would be good manager at international level. If TT didn’t stay beyond the World Cup, he should have a crack at it full time.

As a whole, I’m not convinced elite club managers make the best international managers. Objectively, Tuchel was the best manager available, but it feels like we’ve taken a step backwards from the Southgate era already.

I’ve never left a football game so disgusted. I nearly left early at 2-0 to make an earlier train that day and regret not doing so…

Look, we’ve got a world class manager now… the only way he improves on Southgate is if he wins something. The bar is set that high now.

I just hope we don’t get to next summer regretting that the fans and press chased Southgate out of the job.

I think that Lampard would be a good fit and has excellent coaching staff he can call upon. The main issue is his tactical inflexibility which remains to be resolved.

Tuchel clearly deserves time to show what he can do but more mind numbingly tedious football leads me to think Southgate may as well have stayed.

In fairness , it wasnt England's best 11 and it was a new system

We have to hope this is why

Fast energetic football does work at international level too , the idea boring football is the only way to success at international level is absolutely not true

No, the 4-0 was played at Molineux. Which makes it worse to be honest.

We lost away too, 1-0.

I’m keeping a level head because all that matters is qualification and then the World Cup.

My concern is that the level competition is so low, the team won’t be tested sufficiently before the World Cup.

Roy Keane just mentioned it on ITV; Tuchel needs to be really hone in on his best team. Let the players build the chemistry and put teams to the sword.
