The Spanish players make it all look so effortless. Thiago Alcantara, Juan Mata, Javi Martinez and Ander Herrera look quality.
It's a shame that we are missing a fair few top quality players from our side. You can understand the clubs wanting to protect their players, but if you think that we are missing Micah Richards, Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere and Andy Carroll.

Compare this to the side we have at the moment:

...................Fielding.................
Richards..Smalling..Jones..Gibbs
.................Rodwell..................
......Henderson....Wilshere.........
Welbeck......................Sturridge
..................Carroll....................

That is a quality side!

An OUTSTANDING Spain move nearly got them their 2nd...

Might be wrong, but with 70 minutes gone, I dont think we have had a shot on target yet..

In fairness, we're in the top 8 u21 sides in Europe. Consider that Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Holland didn't even qualify. Spain were clearly a cut above but I don't think we're alone in that.

We were poor at times but that is a good result in the first game.

Also how good is Walker!

Thought Albrighton should have came on, instead of putting Lansbury on the wing, and don't like Mancienne playing in CM, should be Rodwell imo.

Even though we were outclassed for 95% of the match, Spain didn't really have too many clear cut chances, and in the end they paid for pissing about with it.

Defence was brilliant, Walker MOTM, Smalling second and Bertrand who I haven't seen before looked pretty decent.

Saw Walker at the Ricoh this year (vs QPR), he looks absolute quality.

Walker looks a top prospect, and from the little I saw last night (flicking back and forth with the f1) Smalling looked to have a great game.

Spain did look miles ahead of us though

Interesting to see how Henderson did. He was out classed by thiago and herrera, defo not worth 20mil.
