Read in the paper today that England's shirt for World Cup will set you back £90.00.
I'm just glad my two sons are adults now as being a World Cup they would have pestered me to get them a shirt at least when they were kids. And kids tops aren't much cheaper. What a rip off !

£90 for "players" shirt
£60 for "stadium" shirt

Shame on the FA. Shame on Nike.

The thing about having a replica and authentic version isn't new, but £60 for the cheap one is a bit mental.

1. I'm sure I've seen the 'normal' one £50

2. There will be places to pick the shirt up for circa £18 if you know where to look

do they say on them what determines the real/replica?

The authentic versions tend to be more tailored for an athletic shape and have all the bullshit temperature technologies that rarely exist outside of press releases.

The real one has all the extra bits for airflow and sweat removal etc. Plus the badge is printed on rather than sewn on.
I'd rather have the replica. But for £50 they can do one.

Just get this: http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-england-core-t-shirt-mens-374067

Or this, which I've already got: http://www.sportsdirect.com/score-draw-england-82-home-shirt-375062

How long have they been pulling this rubbish. I've always assumed, obviously somewhat naively, that the ones they put on sale were the same as the ones they were playing in. Are the ones we sell crappy knock offs or the same as the players wear?

Been different to actual players for years.

E.g. Recent Nike shirts have weird panels on the shoulders (T-shape things)... the normal ones in shops (£45 ish) don't have them.

They do this to get us parents to buy for the kids,it's been going on for years.plus the name on the back.
You can go to a charity shop and if you're lucky pick up a football top for a few quid, and who gives a toss if it's an old one ?
You wear it at the pub get it soaked in Lager and get a stray fag burn on it,but don't care as it cost sod all !

It's been going on for quite a long time, but it tends to apply mainly to high-profile stuff like internationals and probably Champions league and the like (might even just be a Nike and Adidas thing, but not sure).

Down in the deep end of the Football League though the shirt you can get in a club shop is the same one the players are wearing in 99% of cases. I think this might be the first time it's happened with England.

The way the FA have deserted us??? ANY CCFC fan ought to think very carefully before buying a shirt, scarf or ticket for anything England. Yes I'll supping down the pub cheering them on & probably feeling the usual inevitable pain but a little less as much as anyone who pays money to their coffers
