I like to see England do well and will watch hoping we win but very little connection with the team these days. Very different compared to the glory days of Italia 90 - loved that team and tournament.

On the other hand, City not winning makes me depressed until we play again. Now even more so compared to the Prem days, I love this team, the last 5 years, our fantastic and now close to legendary support and Robins.

Not sure if I'm alone but a City win means more to me vs. England success.

I want England to win the World Cup and that would be amazing but would pale in to insignificance to any success with Coventry City.

I hope England do well, but club over country always. Proud dad moment too when my daughter said she'd take 3 points at Watford over winning the WC.

Having said that if City went bust I could never support anyone else so I think I'd then start following England instead.

Bloody match threads. The only things that change are the scorelines and even they're getting predictable.

More Coventryish than English tbh.

City without a doubt.

Want England to do well mainly because it makes the tournament more interesting and adds to the atmosphere here but not that bothered really.

Just bought England tickets for game in March v Ukraine. Very reasonably priced.

City every time… I’m not bothered about England and only doing this to keep the daughter happy

City by a country mile.
Only interested in England at tournaments, and really get behind them then, but the minute they go out, I'm over it.
One thing that drives me mad though is when England set up so negatively. Annoys me as the manager always seems so reluctant to 'have a go' and tries to play in a manner that the players rarely play at club level.

Good question. I've asked the same thing to a lot of fans who support other teams as well. And to be fair it was 50/50 A lot of the older generation fans picked England over club. The younger ones choose club. For me Coventry all day long. Although I'm in the old codger category!!

For me it's Coventry without a doubt. But when I speak to my father in law, for example, he'll say he's a city fan but never go to games, and is much more invested in whether the national team are winning.

City. Though, once an international tournament gets going the highs and lows feel greater for me, assume because City play again and you can always win next week, vs. losing on penalties and that’s it for that team.

I'd take 3 points over England winning the world cup any day of the week. I find the lads I know that say England over their club don't seem to have the same connection to it as us cov fans do at the moment. Your villa, man u, Chelsea fans etc that pick England don't seem to get the same feeling I get for Cov

And what are your thoughts on the question? 100% the MSB for me; couldn't give a flying fuck about England.

There’s certainly a preference to who I’d rather watch, City of course. Still can’t understand why people have to blast others for loving or even favouring England though.

It's always good to watch the world cup, but this tournament, being mid-season directly affects our club football.
To me there is no comparison.
City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City City

Yup and we keep having reinventions of this question in new threads over and over again.

I don't see anything wrong in someone choosing country over club or vice versa. There is no right or wrong and it doesn't make anyone a better fan. Personal choice.

I love England and I love the City and even though I feel uneasy about the competition being in Qatar, I will be backing England all the way, as per usual.

Both for me. Couple of years ago I would have said England but it switches. In fact pretty sure I did say it on here. I will say though, only thing that makes me cry is football, Coventry and England. Get so invested in it.

Actually right now it’s City. Good times are rolling.

I will never understand the people that aren’t arsed about international football though. Or even actively want us to do shit and go on about it. Find it weird.
