Why on earth was he trying to head that?

Not a fan of this red kit, too much blue trim.

Exactly why Dier isn't a defender. I don't disagree with taking only 3 CBs, just hope it doesn't come to Dier having to play there.

Henderson really isn't that good.

There are better options for England.

What's everyone's gut feeling: Rashford, yay or nay for the final squad?

Yay. Think he will go.

Is it three to drop out? Heard on 5 Live it was 2.

Guess maybe Drinkwater won't go and then maybe out of Sterling, Barklay, Townsend?

2 because he's already said Delph not going.

Henderson should go. Especially after turning up 3 days early when others would've spent it on a beach or at home. Rashford has to go ahead of Sturridge now. No more game time available for him before the final squad is sent to UEFA. Hasn't featured in either game. Looked resigned when Rashford scored. Shame to hear the boos for Townsend who I felt did well when he came on. Fair play to the Sunderland fans that stood and applauded him. I made a point of doing it too. Felt for Dier. He certainly can head a ball!

Who would you leave out? Personally, I'd go with Barkley and Sterling, assuming Sturridge is fit. If Sturridge not fit enough then take Sterling.

I thought Drinkwater looked off the pace or he was trying too hard at times instead of keeping it simple.

What do you think CJ?

Sturridge needs to be bombed out, too much of a risk. Delph is out which leaves one spot. I'd take Drinkwater, I'm still tempted to leave out one of Wilshire or henderson who have not impressed in 2 friendlies and still struggling with fitness and form

I would have had Defoe in the squad ahead of Sturridge

Will be very surprised if this doesn't happen. I'd be tempted to start with Rashford in the group games as it won't be expected. He's in such great form and full of confidence don't think it would be much of a risk.

Delphi, Sturridge and Wilshire out for me. I like Wilshire but he's done nothing in these games to win his place, plus factor in that he's only played 3 times for Arsenal since coming back from injury.

Personally, I think Hodgson has to take Wilshire. A risk worth taking in my view.

Think he is a player who has the ability to make our midfield tick and as they said on the commentary last night it might be that the tournament just comes at the right time for him as he gets back to match fitness.

Would prefer Wilshire to Henderson for sure. I like Henderson, but he can be rather rushed on the ball at times and gives away possession too easily.

Sturdidge and Henderson out for me.

Henderson, like Otis said, always looks rushed on the ball. What he lacks in skills, composure and a good footballing brain he makes up for with effort. Surely England can do better! Wiltshire in for me!

Either way. Looking forward to the Euros now. Just got the Champions League to get out of the way now hey!

Defoe instead of Rashford,I think he has a bright future but a major tournament is a gamble.
Not sure about Wilshere hes been injured all season !? Still cannot fathom why Noble was overlooked but was the same for France 98 with Gazza being bombed out for Anderton the sicknote.

I might be the only one but I thought Wilshire has a good game yesterday being asked to play out of his comfort zone. Lots of good passes, he's the sort of player who can pick a pass or find a bit of space that others can't. If fit he'd be one of the first players on the team sheet for me.

Delph out and I'm sure Sturridge too so only one more to go, I'd be tempted to take both Sterling and Townsend as they can offer something different down the wings if we want to stretch a team. Drinkwater has been poor for England so far and Henderson was terrible last night so I could see one of those going (probably Drinkwater as he doesn't have the top level experience of Henderson).

Personally I'd drop Milner, not good enough at the highest level, not going to develop any further and always gives the ball away which cant be done at international level. I know Roy likes him because of his work rate and versatility but WE actually have enough players with different skill sets in midfield that we don't need a guy that can do a bit of everything and excel at nothing.

Milner is a very good player, but he's just not quite international standard I feel. Agree on Wilshere and on drinkwater too. Probably out of Henderson and Drinkwater.

Totally agree. It's this workhorse, jack of all, master of none approach that has held England back.

Sturridge and Drinkwater along with Delph will be the ones to drop out I reckon.

Really? Think Milner will be one of our most important players this summer. Underrated.

I think all the forward players will go and an extra midfielder will miss out with Rooney being used in the number 10 role

Agree. Covers every blade of grass every game. A much much better and more dynamic Paul Telfer. 1-0/2-1/3-2 up with 20 to go and he's the first one I'd want on the pitch.

I like Miner, but for me he just falls short of an international standard player.

When he steps up he looks a lot more ordinary and ineffective. He also loses possession a lot more at international level.

I don't know what people see in Milner, it makes me feel crazy when I see him play for England and I seem to be the only one tat can see him constantly giving the ball away. No doubting he has great energy but that goes for nothing when he just lumps the ball to the opposition

As soon as he gets to international level he falters. Just doesn't have the same impact and not only does he give the ball away with regularity, he often does so in dangerous areas.

Can see him being much more than a bit player in Euro 2016.

I would have left Sterling out for Townsend, other than that it's as expected

Really harsh on Drinkwater, should have gone ahead of either Henderson or Milner. He'd the most natural to sit if dier gets injured or has to play centre back.

I think Townsend offers more than Sterling, certainly at the moment anyway. One player is in form, the other out of it.

Drinkwater is the right decision I think. He looked a little out of his depth to me.

What happened to Aaron Lennon? I always liked him on the right wing.
England will get nowhere with the team they have picked, it's one of the worst in history.
Too many unfit, out-of-form players.

Feel for Townsend, always does the business when he pulls an England shirt on.
