I knew it Woy puts crock Wilshire in, hopefully he doesn't make the cut.
Andros Townsend and Rashford in the mix.

More to come.

What has Theo Walcott done wrong?

Is Delph fit, thought he was crocked? * He's played 7 games since coming back, should be OK.

Agree with a lot of the squad but some weird inclusions.

Walcott- Doesn't deserve a space, he misses way too many easy chances, and has barely played for the second half of the season.

Wllshere while a gamble, has 3 games to get fit before the euro's so i am not too concerned, as I think he is a very important player.

Rashford- Interesting inclusion, but will be good to at least be around the squad- Think he might go as well, as RH does like taking 5 strikers.

Biggest disagreement is Sterling- Had a terrible season, and is out of form, and confidence. Should never have gone to man city.

Too many CM's in there: Dier, Delph, Alli, Wilshere, Hendo, Milner, Drinkwater

Defenders and keepers pretty much picked themselves

Who i see being left out are:
- Rashford
- Townsend
- And either one of Delph or Drinkwater

I would leave out:
- Sterling
- Delph
-Rashford

Starting line up of:
----------Hart---------
Clyne-Smalling-Cahill-Bertrand
------------Wilshere
-----Hendo------Milner
-----------Alli----------
Kane------Sturridge

Obviously that won't be the team, as Rooney will start possibly as the 10, and Alli will drop back with Milner dropped. But shall see how everyone does in the friendlies

Suspect Wilshere will get a lot of minutes in the warm up games and will have to prove his fitness to make the final cut.

I'd probably leave Sterling and Wilshere out of the final squad, not sure who would be the third I'd cut.

Delph played most of the qualifiers so he's certainly got a fan in Hodgson.

Will he get ahead of Hendo, Dier, Milner, Alli, Wilshere though?

Dier, is the best defensive mid we have. Henderson, is a Hodgson favourite, and adds energy to the midfield, which we require if playing a narrow formation, Milner, probably in the form of his life atm, with the amount of assists he has. Alli, been phenomenal all year. Then Wilshere, if fit, has always been one Hodgson's first names on the team sheet.

I see Delph being the one left out, if all prove fitness.Maybe Drinkwater, do we really need 7 Cm's?

I think Delph's definitely at the back of that queue. If I had to guess I think the three dropped will be Rashford and then two of Wilshere/Henderson/Drinkwater/Delph depending on how fit the first two prove themselves to be.

Its absolute bullshit if Wilshire goes to the euros, he's played what 130 mins football this season, 3 friendlies in which hell probably play a max of 140-150 minutes isn't enough going into a major tournament. Have we not learned from Rooney, Owen and Beckham.

He needs to look at players like Drinkwater rather than Wilshere. He shouldn't be going anywhere near Wilshere based on just his name rather than what he's done!

Wilshere bossed the qualifying games he appeared in and he's looked with it in the meagre time he's been back so he's not really like when Rooney and Beckham were racing against the clock and sleeping in oxygen chambers or whatever. I'd only not take him if he falls apart in the next two weeks, I'd be far more confident with him tucked in midfield than Henderson or Delph.

The inclusion of Delph and Wilshere over Noble is baffling. Wilshere has been had good games this campaign but after only one start following a 10 month injury lay off It's a massive risk. Says a lot though that I'd still have him ahead of Delph. Feel for Defoe too.

Defoe will always get goals

Dissapointed no place for Defoe. He really is (and probably always has been) our very best striker. Rashford will never play so a waste of a spot. We look very weak in strikers. In fact we look pretty weak everywhere except perhaps goal-keeper. But my big concern is that Rooney will play. That will doom England completely.

Walcott's spent the last 10 years threatening to come good but never actually doing it.
So has Rooney and he seems to be an automatic choice.

When was the last tournament an England squad had the first and second highest premier league scorers in there squad?

Roy has to put his trust in Vardy and Kane, no place for Rooney I'm afraid

I like Defoe, but I don't see a place for him. Vardy and Kane are ahead of him at the top and Rashford's either getting the late cut or going to sit on the bench for the experience, which seems a waste of a 33-year old's time.

You wouldn't take a striker that has scored 15 goals in a team that has been in the bottom 3 for the majority of the season?

I said the same about Andy Johnson a few years back. But no, as they play for an 'unfashionable' team they don't get a look in.

I wouldn't because he won't play. Not because he's at Sunderland, but because two English strikers have had better seasons and have more of an all-round game which fits better in the England team that Hodgson plays. Either that Rashford spot will be cut or it'll be for a player going there just to get experience being at a tournament, which is wasted on Defoe.

I think they need to take a real 'honest' view on Wiltshire, if he is genuinely fit then we need to take him as he is one of the best in the league when fully fit, personally have him over any other midfielder in that squad. If he's not, they need to put in another, we cannot take passengers on this trip.
You cannot take Rashford, he wont et a game and isn't ready for it. Personally thinking twice about Rooney also but he is already on that plane and strapped in. I would rather take that lanky streak of piss from West Ham and mix it up when we are chasing the game. The squad doesn't scream of a plan B if (when ) it goes tits up during a game,

Disagree, I would say Defoe is a much better all round striker than Vardy. Vardy has pace to burn and has had an excellent season, but in a side that was built around him and Mahrez. But Defoe has scored goals in every system and every team he has played in, Defoe deserved to go.
While I agree with the sentiment of getting Rashford experience. He would have been much better off imo, going to the U21 Toulon tournament and playing.
I can see Vardy being used similarly to Welbeck and possibly as a LW, so taking Defoe would have been useful.
While Rooney is our captain, and I do like what he brings. I trust Defoe more than Rooney for goals. Rooney might even be playing as a 10.

Either way think we have to start with Sturridge and Kane, both world class strikers. Just think Defoe deserve a spot on the bench at least.

Would say Kane, Sturridge and Vardy are all different types of players? While we may not be able to go long ball, and hoof it into the box, would say they all offer different traits, and are much better footballers than Andy Carroll. Plus I don't think he deserves it at all? His attitude towards football is piss poor anyway, and while on his day he can be incredible. He has one good game a season sadly.

Hendo [cringe] - he's another Milner but with even less about him. Leave him at home.

Is that Wayne 177 goals in 367 club games or 51 goals in 109 international games Rooney. He gets a lot of unfair criticism, he's probably past his peak now but he was very good, been unfortunate with injuries in virtually every big tournament.

Disagree, I rate Henderson highly, and was Liverpool's shining light last season, and this season has been asked to play with an injury almost all season.
Miner, only one player has got more assists in the BPL in 2016.
Both are solid players. Not world beaters, they aren't Pogba, Iniesta, Kross, etc. But they are good players. And better than any other options we have.

1-0 to England. Although Australia are getting a lot more of the ball and a lot further forward than I'd be happy with if I was the manager.

Sunday league defending by Australia, good finish by Rooney 2-0
