not sure anyone else is doing much. Everton deal direct with Hummel not Elite Sports so doesn't impact them. A couple of clubs, such as Southampton, seem to have managed to get the administrator to release existing stock and a couple of others, such as Oldham have open cash only club shops with fuck all stock

my biggest criticism at the moment would be how have other clubs managed to speak to the administrator and get stock released and we haven't. could be that they've had to make a payment to the administrator and we can't / won't do that while in the middle of a takeover. or could just be our usual level of incompetence

Think the difference was where the stock is. I saw a Rugby club say all their stuff was stuck too. Something bears maybe?

And speaking exclusively to CoventryLive, City’s chief executive Dave Boddy confirmed: “It’s unlikely that we will be able to continue to wear the Hummel brand beyond this season.

“We are very disappointed because they have been a massive selling point for us, the Hummel look, the chevrons and everything.

“We are really disappointed with the turn of events. Our retail operation since linking with the Hummel brand has increased beyond our wildest dreams. Our net income has gone up four fold. The club and Hummel have grown the brand together and we’re hugely disappointed that the partnership is to end.

Shame! Massive blow to the club financially cause if we go back to boring Nike template kits they won’t sell half as many

On a selfish note, I hadn’t brought any of this seasons shirts for my collection (I usually wait till they go on sale at the end of the season cause I only really doss about the house in them) and now looks like I won’t be able too

wonder how the figures stack up for getting them made themselves. there's fans who knock up great designs and there's companies that print the shirts. although with our level of organisation that might be a disaster waiting to happen.

not like our kits are on sale in stores around the country.

From the sounds of it even at triple the cost it’s worth it if we increase sales that much.

I meant more the “no more Hummel” stuff than the ongoing issues with supply this season.

I don't think Prior to Elite Sports Hummel had much interest in the UK, they weren't around for years were they? I guess what is big sales for us is pretty insignificant for them and unless someone wants to pick up the license, which presumably Hummel charge a decent fee for, they'll just disappear again

All guesswork of course but not sure there's anyone at Hummels head office worrying about the loss of sales of our kit or the likes of Oldham and Northampton

If they want to keep Southampton, as a PL side, they can just move them to a deal similar to Everton

In terms of a replacement - I’d love Umbro

anything other than Nike and going back to sharing the same kit design as a solid quarter of the EFL

What an absolute fucking shitshow.
So presumably then when the players need new kit, which they will on a reasonably regular basis, what happens then?
Presumably clubs like Cambridge and at Albans city who have Hummel kits don’t appear to use elite sports as their shops are still alright? And Northampton have managed to reach agreement with admins.
There would surely be alternatives?
I wouldn’t mind asking what the fuck Boddy and that do after what’s gone on this season, Jesus Christ.

you'd assume someone will end up with ownership of the existing stock from the administrator and they will sell it off

Well, it's been a great week so far hasn't it. Stadium malarkey, the ongoing takeover or not saga, now this.

Personally, I'd say they've been our best kit supplier in what feels like forever. I liked the fact we had our own kits and not some prefabricated template. Felt like we'd managed to get back to having a sense of identity a d individuality, rather than just another bland template club.

Oh well. At least the week's halfway done.

Well it's been an enjoyable couple of years, but it seems like the club is now starting to fall apart and we'll soon be sinking back into the abyss.

Thanks ccc, Elite sports, wasps, SISU, Doug King, Mike Ashley and every other fucker involved in this shitshow.

I’d say we’re run like a League Two club off the pitch but there are National League clubs dealing with this situation better than we are so might be a bit generous. What an embarrassing week.

There used to be that page on ebay and online that sold really good retro remake Cov stuff, but think the club shut it down as well?

Said this before but the club should licence a few local crafty types (and Nick) to make some unique products sold or promoted through their store. Would beat half the tat they do have on sale.

Yeah to be fair, they were doing retro Hummel stuff and I think they were shut down just before Hummel started doing our kits.
Shame though

No idea how it works, whether people pay them a lump sum to use it or they give them a %.

It remains to be seen what will happen next in terms of kits for the 23-24 season. The current situation may lead to clubs leaving Hummel for other brands. The Danish company will need to start looking for a solution and also at the possibility of finding other distribution partners in the UK, or else they could lose a lot of clubs.

Up to the club I’d guess. But I’d much rather buy something like the badly drawn panini stuff as a present than mass marketed plastic tat.

It's a mess and a real shame.
I think I get why there is a middle man but what happened to them and why
Were we seemingly suffering some issues over adequate supply coming in prior to this?

I know we're hardly comparable, but Arsenal (and I imagine a lot of other big Premier League teams) do some really good retro stuff through their store.
Wish we'd do more things like that, rather than just a plain grey jumper with an embroided Cov badge that are always left on the sales page on the online shop

The last Nike away kit before we switched to Hummel.

An absolute design classic. Look at the amount of thought and hours that have gone into it. Absolutely stunning. #neverforget

Think it's mostly down to the owners being unwilling to fund proper infrastructure as well as appointing no marks like Boddy into key positions.
