Not sure if that is a joke? I am referring to his height not squad depth.

Sorry, yeah it was a rubbish attempt at humour. Shocked Fatso though, which isn't easily achieved

Yet he's been a part of two promoted sides ??

Where's your logic with this cause I'm genuinely struggling

I think the point his agent made is a valid one, he was “cold” and not playing first team football for a while, it’s just whether he’s back to some sort of form. To be fair to those that are keen on him, we can’t afford to spend millions on every position so it’s good he’s free and he also seems to have a likeable demeanour which is always a good thing.

My main concern is how much ability does he retain, the majority of the clips posted on here have been from when he was playing for Brentford or Bournemouth which was some time ago in his career. Is it fair to say there’s both positives and negatives with this guy? Sitting on the fence shouldn’t be viewed as a bad thing imo.

Here he is scoring Hib's goal of the season from a few months ago

Great free kick taker tbf, another string to his bow and a skill we don’t currently have much of I suppose

Perfectly rational response, shame most on this forum can't have a discussion without resorting to petty insults. As you say, there's a lot to both sides of this one.

29, which could be argued as slightly older than what we go for, but we are lacking in experienced heads really, we do have a bit of a young squad so could prove good to have someone around. That leads nicely onto his experience of being part of two sides that have been promoted from the Championship. That experience will stand him in good stead for a side who is aiming for promotion.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, which we could probably do with some extra cover considering Palmer's inconsistency, and Torp could be covering deeper. He could also cover wide positions if we find Rapha not quite up to the standard yet, and we find ourselves needing a gap. Too much cover could be seen as a bad thing, but given that our squad is relatively on the smaller side, I'm not convinced that we're anywhere near a bloated squad yet.

I also saw a point earlier about a difference in attack, sometimes last season we tended to look a little soft attacking wise, especially near the start of the season, but I guess it could be argued that like you say, he may be coming in "cold", but if a deal gets done and we get a pre-season with him, who knows?

I'm all for it, all I can find online is that his wages at Bournemouth were ~£12k, so I imagine he may be looking at ~£8-9k if he's playing consistently in a division he knows well.

Quality signing if for depth and experience. @Saddlebrains so this is done then? Does that mean Allen is off?

Crazy how everyone thinks somethings a done deal when Saddle mentions a name. He’s got a poor record recently

Can I just ask, @GIMOC or @fernandopartridge have either of you heard anything about this signing? Not that I don’t trust you @Saddlebrains I’m just wondering if anyone else has heard the same thing.

I think free agents will be deciding by the end of next week where they decide to go. This will have an effect and transfers will pick up. Im sure we will have more movement with as much out as in. Names mentioned or not we will have more that said no to coming that will ever say yes.

Im glad to know those who want to come than anyone who picked other clubs to sign for. Im not interested who didn't come and why....

I’m with @BlueSkiesForever on this one. Could be a shrewd signing and adds more depth but he’s not done anything of note in recent times. Will see how this pans out before judging
