Not sure a screenshot from an article about an investigation into police misconduct is proving what you want it to.

Scarborough: Teenager jailed for Islamic centre protest

James Martin was shouting and swearing outside while people were at prayer in an Islamic centre.
www.bbc.co.uk

Who was actually sent to jail as he was arrest with firelighters and was planning to burn down the islamic centre

I think comparing post office sub masters with people who went out and committed violent disorder is a bit of a stretch an a huge insult tbh.

Like it or not the British public are generally pro law and order, whatever the “cause” behind the disorder.

He shouted.
In what way is that violent disorder?

You’ve completely missed the point that people are being forced into pleading guilty to things they haven’t done

I don’t think the issue is with the Englishman being sent to jail. But why was a child groomer spared prison?

Well choosing not to vote is where I'm at and I don't like that either. Politically homeless and for the first time ever, as I put on the politics thread, I didnt vote in the recent round of local elections. When it comes to the GE I've always encouraged others and said you must vote even if I disagree with you or you don't have a voice. I'll most likely end up voting Conservative again, yet I'm as bad as my grandparents who were always too loyal to Labour as I don't really believe in them in any longer.

To be honest I nearly didn't vote in the local elections. Long day at work, had a shower, in front of the tele. Knock at the door, local Labour guy. Says, not explicitly, but pretty much, "we need your vote". So went out and voted, basically because if Reform had got in and I hadn't voted to try and stop them, then I would have been angry with myself. So, didn't make any difference in the end, but at least I did my bit to try and stop them.

I don’t care what your political persuasion is, but if you trust politicians, think they give a flyingfuck about you, and believe that the news you're fed is balanced?

I’ve got news for you.

You’d have to ask him, he plead guilty. Would you like judges to disagree when someone pleads guilty?

No, I’d quite like people not to be arrested and imprisoned for shouting.

A civilised society does not imprison people for speaking loudly

That we have a system of checks and balances that is improving the police force and it’s far less corrupt than it’s ever been as a result. The grooming gangs are a national scandal with multiple enquiries over decades for a reason. This shit is abnormal. Again if all you read are scary stories on Twitter you will come away with a skewed version of reality.

Does a civilised society involve turning up mob handed and shouting at random brown people because some kids got killed by a brown person? I lose track.

Absolute fucking bollocks. He was advised to go for a jury trial by his brief due to the outcomes that that are delivered by the court where he would be put on trial. They have a track record when freedom of speech crimes are tried in that court, if the Lucy girl had been given better advice and opted for a jury trial then she wouldn't have gone to jail. Both things they did were abhorrent but the outcomes indicate that justice is not as equal as some would think or at least not the advice from KC's.

yes and that is why SYP aren't even allowed to investigate the further allegations against them in those cases and the NVA has taken over.

His point was look this bloke only waved a flag and that was bollocks.

it's not bollocks is it, she pled guilty and he went to trial and was found not guilty.

that is why she ended up in jail and he didn't

it's as simple as that, she was the wife of a councillor and they have similar access to to legal representation.

It’s an entirely separate issue. What were the political alignments of the jury?

Was the legal advice given to the others poor?

No he shouted as part of a mob that broke into a hotel with asylum seekers in in Rotherham because a brown person killed some kid’s in Wales. Let’s be clear. He was shouting racist remarks, conspiracy theories and cheering on groups attacking women.

Yes we prosecute harder during ongoing street violence just like the road men stealing rice in 2011. This is all standard practice. Again welcome to protest politics.
