I’ve done a lot of research on these topics and have friends from both ends of the political spectrum. My more right sided friends do not seem to care if you are black, white etc. Their issues are that a significant number of the people are claiming asylum with no intention of ever working or contributing to society along with the disproportionate crime rates.

Nah, this is just a lazy argument to shut down the immigration debate.
The reality is that a lot of people have had enough of the situation in the UK, and the politicians aren't listening. Anyone that speaks out are classed by some as racist, far-right, or whatever else. This is making the problem worse as there is still no real moderate conversation permitted without it turning into something like this.
