Wright plays the channels , can hold up the ball , can pass , can take a man on , can shoot .. simms looks like he won a raffle at Everton academy to win a pro contract

He does nothing well , I rarely give up on players but for me he moves on at the end of the season .

He might score 1 or 2 more this season but id still get him gone , we need better

Bit harsh to say he does nothing well. I was critical of him after WBA because despite what some posters said, he wasn’t good. But there is certainly a few things he can do. Six yard box he comes alive, he’s physically built to be a CF and he can shoot with power.

And this is where I’m at. He’s doing better under Lampard, still not enough for me personally. If he played consistently like he did against Hull for even 50% of games, even without scoring, I wouldn’t be complaining / concerned.

Ru sure about this, it's exactly what happened after that great 10 game run?

"Confidence players" worry me. We need players who are not affected by how they played the previous week.

6 goals in his last 46 league appearances..

Take a break we won & he was part of that. You obviously don't rate him and that's fine but the way you bang on is ridiculously over the top. It's not like anyone is trying to make out like he's having a good season. Give me some solutions rather than just moaning, who would you play instead? we are running on fumes squad wise, we don't have much option other than to play him CF and Haji LW.

I actually think his bulk alone is an asset, defenders are drawn to him and he does tire them out. Goal might come he's had decent runs but I fail to see what is gained by slagging him off at every opportunity.

Side point, it wasn't that long ago people were saying we won't miss EMC

1 goal at the CBS in the league since April 6th last year against Leeds

If we can get slightly more than what we paid it’s definitely something you’d consider in my opinion

My thoughts on him are well known, but I think we should get right behind him now, there's 3 massive games to go, and hopefully the playoffs to look forward to.

Let's just get behind him and everyone else in the squad, it could be that his best games are coming up, he could still end this season as a hero.

I'd love to hear the SBA sing his name and encourage him to be the beast we want him to be.

2 seasons and still waiting for him to step up, there’s def a player in there just hides well, thought he looked a bit quicker Friday and won a few headers, need everyone now though to raise their games,

Exactly this, now is definitely not the time to be digging anyone out.

Personally I don't mind him but nobody can say he's had a good season. Hopefully he can find a late season purple patch

In what way has he been dicked about? He's featured in 40 out of 43 games this season including 23 starts all in his favoured position and has scored 6 goals, only 1 at home. Whether you rate him or not, he's certainly had a fair crack and those stats aren't good enough. Hopefully he scores the winner at Wembley and things change, but he doesn't do enough. Unfortunately we have limited options there and Bassette is worse or he wouldn't start.

well, for our first choice striker, only starting half the games is, in my opinion, dicking him around. especially when he's only gonna be dropped for bassette, bta or wright.
i don't want him to run around like an idiot, chasing everything and using up his energy. i want him to occupy a relatively small patch of grass so that everyone knows where he is. that way, the AMs and the wingers can play off him. and when there is something worth chasing he has some fuel left in the tank.

Hardly over the top , ive tried to be rational and have tried to discuss the player fairly ..

There currently are no real solutions due to injury however suggesting his season has been poor and his return has been wank takes nothing away from our results , as we can win games irrespective of whether a couple of players are performing below standard

Its a forum and unfortunately for some , people won't always agree on certain players

Its also a thread discussing the player in question so obviously there will be different opinions

Yeah fine but what's the point of churning over old news. Nobody is saying he's bang in form. He strikes me as a bit of a delicate character, by the constant negativity you are the online equivalent of type that sit in the crowd almost willing him to be awful, the types that claim he didn't mean it when he does score. So tedious and potentially negative especially when we are at a point where we have zero opinions and 3 crucial games. Might get it if he was keeping someone out the team but he's not.

Almost as delicate as you're being because I'm speaking about a player in a Way that displeases you

I'm generally pretty positive on here and in person about the squad and players , its there for you to see

Calling it. He’ll be got rid of in the summer if Lampard is still about and we can get strength and size upfront to fit how we play, and they can control the ball and score.

Not getting it are you. I have no problem with what you think, just find it weird and potentially counter productive keep on like you do, especially at this point in the season. You have not offered any solutions, just repeated constantly that you think he's bad. You've said it now, shut up. I bet you are one of the dweebs that groan when a ball played to him. Great fan

I think he should stand on the edge of the six yard box perpendicular to the near post to try and get a flick on but he is always on the line in the centre of the goal.

He has had games where he tries to be a presence to upset the GK etc,but I can remember that game against wolves and I'm sure there have been others, the thing is who gets the space when he's around but not producing as we see it?
Hull game early chance good hit but not lucky with a very good goalie etc somebody needs to believe in him.

I just pointed out his record was bad over the last 46 games , and then was pushed into further debate by other posters .

I looked back and you seem to like ellis and thats probably why you're annoyed with what I'm saying but I think we pay him good money , and we spent good money on him and I'm disappointed in his return and I cant hide that on the forum .. on the pitch I back every player that plays for us

I did stick up for him especially earlier in the season when everyone was shite and he seemed to get unfairly singled out. Hard to say anything other than he's been poor stats wise but I can see that rightly or wrongly defenders are scared of him. It is massively frustrating as he's played so well in certain games.

Total conjecture but what I think from every bit of press or interview is that he comes across really shy and a bit awkward, I honestly think most of his issues are in his head. He should be doing better and has a lot of the raw attributes that you'd want. He seems really affected by bad form and having audible moans when he gets a touch can't help. As someone else mentioned I wish we'd go the other way and really try going OTT with songs and stuff see if that gets him out his shell. We have a lot of money tied up in him it's got to be worth a go.

God knows if any of the players read this nonsense on here but I don't really see the point in ragging on players especially now especially when there are no other options.

Simms while not scoring goals still gives defenders problems like rudonis goal he occupied the centre halfs and it left a gap for rudoni sakamoto had a similar chance but the ball was played behind him. Simms will still score goals he's got another big goal or two left in him this season keep the faith pusb
