The one thing that makes me think he may go even further is his ability to treat good and bad exactly the same

How many other players would go off in a sulk at missing that chance?

I like him, he does seem like he needed confidence and belief.

Him and Wright both very humble in their interview.

Didn't go into his shell after that 1st half chance, just continued to bully that Wolves back-4, they couldn't cope with him all game and he got the goals his performance deserved, plus an awesome assist for Wright's winner.

From the Cov Telegraph:

Thats the point. So often you see players really on a high, but both of them were just business like.
We have two gems, and mentally tough players that i truly believe will be better than Gyokeres for us. Hanging on to both will be hard.

Wolves fans talk about Kilman like he should be in the England squad btw. Simms made his life hell today.

TBF the Wolves fans aren’t being very complimentary about Kilman or Doherty on their forum.

Mental strength phenomenal. But I suppose strikers at every age group through every level are used it.

Everything from his general demeanour to his first touch is just so atypical of what you expect from a big, physical striker like him. But I’m so glad he’s starting to shut up the naysayers, he’s worked extremely hard all season.

I loved the fact Haji openly admitted that he and Ellis had a slow start to their Cov careers ….Lots of players blame systems, team mates, coaches etc for their performances when below par. They look a real threat now ….. imagine how good they might be next season with yet more time, coaching, and greater confidence.

The City Unseen was quite interesting. Lots of players seemed to have an in joke that he is quite serious. Although seeing him go for it in sweet Caroline was good.

I think because he’s around characters like MVE and COH it makes him seem extra quiet a bit like Bidwell, men of few words.

That's absolutely fine though. People are different and in a team that is a strength rather than a weakness, as long as his teammates appreciate how he is. I am not sure a team full of vanEwijk and O'Hare type of characters would work.

Gyokeres was rather aloof too although he did interact with the fans more, but really it isn’t a problem. I also think that level headed nature seems to mean he doesn't get too down when he misses chances.

I'm really starting to like Simms. At one point on Saturday he came thundering over to challenge for a ball by the touchline right in front of us, won it against the odds and ran straight towards the goal with it. I love that commitment and energy. I think he is going to be a massive player for us and if he is a bit on the serious side, I like that too. A couple of calm. thoughtful heads in the group gives a nice balance

I liked him from day one and posted on here I could see a player in him when others were doubting. I'm loving the fact he's coming on leaps and bounds in everyones eyes now.

In the spirit of the Sheaf thread I think I spoke positively about his calm demeanour after his signing interview and been saying for months he has all the attributes. Strikers go through dry spells. No need to write them off.

Still makes me chuckle that Wright was described as ‘childish’ for being introverted

Ellis Simms is a cool character. Not that he plays that way, but his celebrations are usually muted. When he misses a chance, he almost looks the same as when he scores a goal! Love it.
However, his joy at his equalizer, on Saturday and even more so for Hadji's winner, was brilliant to see.
Cracking player

Maybe I'm old school but i think if he just added a bit of nasty (not foul play just roughing up people in challenges) to his game he'd really dominate centre-halves. Some of us older lot have compared him to Mick Ferguson - he loved a challenge.

Harry Redknapp:

Harry Redknapp drops "outstanding" Ellis Simms claim after Coventry City win v Wolves

Redknapp had a lot of praise for Simms' contributions after he played a key part in Coventry's win against Wolves.
footballleagueworld.co.uk

"Ellis Simms was outstanding at Molineux; he gave that Wolves defence so many issues....he led the line so well for Coventry, but made quite a few defensive headers from set pieces as well. I know his two goals weren’t the most glamorous, but he was in the right place at the right time, like all good finishers."

"He’s my star man this week, how could it not be a Coventry player? I’ll try and forget that sitter he missed in the first half though!"

What's annoying is next season we will buy a young player. He won't start great and fans will get on back and say clearly waste of money

They never learn. Same people that write off loan players careers

Nah it’s been going on for a while - Bellamy wasn’t quite the replacement for Keane after coming off the back of an ACL injury. We struggled with fans at the start which got worse as the team did. Since the beginning of the prem really it’s been expectation from the start
