I remember in early Jan there was a betting thread on here and someone said our odds were 33/1 on Stan James before we played Brighton and won 3-0. Did anyone take the 33/1 with them? I did and they won't pay out on it as they said it was an error on their part. I know how these things and bookies are protected quite well but I feel I have a case for dispute and have told them as much. Just wondering if it happened to anyone else on here or that you know? This price change has cost me £491 so far
Thanks in advance PUSB
There was a recent issue with the Man City/Monaco game where someone request odds on the result + a player scoring + another player hitting the post. It all happened but the bookie refused to pay out as they claimed it's only valid if the ball hits the post and comes back into play. Once people on Twitter got wind of it the bookie soon had to backtrack and honour the bet, so I'd hit them with screenshots and complaints.
it was psg vs barca
Ah yeah it was Cavani hitting the post wasn't it? I was thinking Falcao for some reason.
You clearly can't work in the Digital Marketing or the Social Media management section. Having been on the other end of it, without question going to Facebook/Twitter publicly will be the most effective way of getting a result. it will hold even more of an advantage if a few people retweet the complaint which im sure people on here would be willing to do.Sorry, but people whose first reaction to a customer issue is to plaster it all over Facebook are mad.
Facebook reviews offer zero balance. In this case i'd imagine there is a small print...33's was clearly wrong.

Sure, you're right people taking things to social media will a lot of the time get their own way. The point I'm making is, a lot of complaints you see on social media, quite often lack any kind of balance as in there are a lot of stupid people out there who don't understand processes or other issues they may be faced with so rather than deal with it in a constructive way they throw shit about on social media and it can be crippling for a small business.
I'm a sales manager for a medium sized business. We have a first class social media presence and always take any issue seriously 100% but for me, complaints should be made via email or telephone in the first instance. If you're not happy and there isn't a resolution then fine - take it further I.E social media. It just annoys me when it's peoples first reaction and in my experience, most people who do that as a first option are generally wrong/mis-informed. For what it's worth the company I work for are a market leader in their field and get very few of these complaints!
I agree i've emailed them privately first in a respectful way.
Just to clarify I did get an email about the error three days after the bet was placed (and a round of knock out results). I've spoken to a few people about this who think I have a case so i'm going to go further. Hopefully IBAS can help. The fact is at the time of placing the bet as someone states here, we hadn't won a game for over 2 months in the league, 33/1 could be argued as being quite fair at the time. it's bloody annoying that's for sure, thanks everyone for the comments and advice, if i take it down the social media side then i'll bring this thread to the top again with a link etc
