I stand to be corrected on this, but only changes to articles of association will require 75% or over to be changed, whilst rules only require 51%.
I would be really surprised if the rules pertaining to the running of the leagues is in the articles. If they are the legal team that developed should be sacked!

I haven't actually looked at the Articles other than the excerpts in this thread
I'd guess the EFL has legal advice that an ordinary resolution is sufficient

That's what I looked at but they're referencing section 13 and 14.5. 13 is to do with grounds, things like ground shares and pitch dimensions. 14 only has 14.1 and 14.2, 14.5 doesn't exist!

Those regulations seem to put the responsibility for ensuring all fixtures are completed by the final day of the season on the clubs rather than the league itself with failure to complete a fixture being a misconduct offence. Although it does say there would not be a misconduct charge if it was due to an unforeseeable event.

Only had a brief look through those regulations but I think you could make an argument that strictly adhering to them would mean the unplayed matches are void and the as it stands table becomes the final table when the date of the final scheduled fixtures passes.

Think I've found something relevant. Not the EFL but the FA Articles of Association 2019/20

Women’s leagues cancelled with immediate effect. Can we draw any parallels from this, or does the difference in finances between the men’s and women’s games mean that what is good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander?

Women's Super League season ended with immediate effect

What does this mean?
Guessing if Tranmere/Peterborough fans know them inside out that there may be grounds to challenge the proposed rule change???

I seriously doubt that unless someone within the clubs has shown these articles, the fans who quote Article 13 have only seen it posted as in that screenshot and have absolutely no idea where that text is nor what it covers. ChiefDave and I have looked for these and have found nothing. The best I've come up with are the FA Articles and even then, there's nothing relevant to my simple brain. Best I can take from their tweets and Instagram posts is "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing".

I've tweeted replies to several people that have made the 'its in the articles' claim, including Nicola Palios (Vice Chairman of Tranmere), none of them have been able to provide a link to them so far.

Be interesting to see the outcome Dave
I've been involved with running organisations in the past where the Articles have similar clauses as to which decisions require 75% approval and which need just a majority
These demarcations are normally quite clear

They're only clear if they exist. The best we've seen from the EFL site is a comment about "Article 13" but in their own Sections, #13 covers the registration of grounds. pitch markings and the flavour of tea sold. Nothing about how the clubs and the league vote on important matters. That entire process is absent. So there's either a whole section of rules and articles that are not open to public scrutiny or Page 1 where it mentions Article 13 is totally irrelevant and severely out of date.

Having a laugh about what? I said rightly or wrongly whether you agree about PPG or not we will be promoted as champs? That’s a comment about PPG not about how good Cov are.

Cov may well be the best team in the league this season, unfortunately I doubt we will get to see the full compliment of fixtures to prove it definitively or to give the players the proper plaudits they deserve.

We are top for a reason , I get that... but it would be incredibly naive to therefore assume we possibly couldn’t have a blip with multiple games to go , especially if you factor in a massive break which breaks any continuity of form.

I have been a Cov fan for too long (as have you or others on here) to know that if there is an opportunity to bottle, Cov are capable of doing so (frustratingly).

if we played the season out to a conclusion I would like to think we have a great chance of finishing the job.

But you would be an idiot to think the job is done already.

Although saying we are the best team in the league (as of March) when the season finishes in May probably demonstrates that. ‍

Under normal times you may be right, but we're not in normal times are we.

Thousands of people are losing their lives and many clubs could go bust, 50 or 60 according to the Huddersfield owner by having to play behind closed doors!

And anyone who doesn't understand that, in your words " is an idiot "

Found the articles. Article 13 says that changes to regulations must be at a general meeting with 21 days notice given of any resolution to change the regulations. A majority of the votes cast by all member clubs present and voting in person or by proxy AND a majority of votes cast by all member clubs (championship ) present and voting either in person or by proxy is required to approve the change in regulation.

Can’t see the base for the objections.

The provision in 14.2 is the one that states simple majority.

Very bold article saying we will get backing when it states only 48% are backing it.

June the 6th has been earmarked as the date for football to recommence for a few weeks now, Government backed, I suspect plans are in place to do that IF possible. That will be decided by the up coming vote.
Doesn’t bother me too much what happens ten games left, need to win half we will smash it, can’t see any opponent relishing playing us, fully fit, raring to go and with the bit between our teeth, be perfect pre-season training imo. Bring it on.

Or make sure Stuart Pearce is as far away from the stadium as feasibly possible. He can strike a canny freekick but he don't like penalties

I thought that for a while, but it requires a vote and it is not an option that is being voted on.
The default, "what happens if nothing is decided" option is to play on. If the vote fails, that is what we do. If some clubs really hate playing on they have to persuade the EFL to do another vote to include n&v. In which case they as well have ppg as that has a better chance of getting 51%. It's kind of circular, all routes lead back to play on v ppg - which Parry and his team probably established way back when.

exactly allowed to start "pre-season"which needs to be at least 4 weeks. Then you've got at least 5-6 weeks of games including play-offs. Takes everyone past normal start of next season. So you've got EFL clubs going into a ridiculously long season as won't be time for a break between 2 seasons.

I cant understand why the vote couldn't have been done on Friday, it's not like clubs wont have been reviewing each option for the past 6 weeks. Prem and Champ already back in training, playing on becomes less feasible the longer this drags on
