Easily solved by not opening the transfer window or not allowing new registrations. The option at the moment for players is they stay with their current club or they have no club at all.

Using us as an example how many players will want to walk away from a potentially title winning season. That's potentially a once in a career thing.

Agents are going to love that. Which is no bad thing in my opinion. No doubt they'll be looking at legal action if they can't make coin over the summer

This would be the best outcome in the end the EFL will do as the Premier League tells them

Why is it a poor way to end the season and why would it be better now to end it on a ppg basis? At least by playing behind closed doors clubs get the income from iFollow - which I can see vastly increasingly in popularity with fans of clubs in the EFL. I don't see the logic from a financial perspective ending the season now as this would leave clubs without any source of income for months.

let’s hope we still get promoted thenif it does carry on , I have major doubts now we will fail and I am usually optimistic . What will you all say if we don’t .., hmmm I know

Once again Mr Parry has made a completely useless statement full of hot air and absurdity with no clue to what they are going to do. This moron is about as thoughtful as a retailer in a Chinese wet market. Still clinging to the hope games can be played out with scant regard to public health. The government just announced a further lock down period. What in Mr Parry's mind makes him think players can come back, stadiums open up with all the staffing required to do so, travel up and down the country for football teams to away games in a bus, stay over in hotels, and all the rest of the logistics. Not to mention players getting in to train for at least 3 weeks to get match fit before they even kick a ball? What planet is this guy on? You at best would totally disrupt the following season for all sorts of reasons. Clubs need to figure out their finances, transfer windows, contracts, the whole nine yards.
Call it now, PPG to finish it, no relegations. It's just 9 games remaining from 44. Momentum has gone, it would be like starting a new mini season likely to be seen as unfair as it could drastically effect results markedly different from those of the first 35 games.
When it's safe to do so the new season can start, concentrate on that. Hand out the prize money, the money from the Premier league (rumoured to be £125/135m) teams need now, and lessen the certain burden of risk to all players, staff and associated people it would take to try and finish the season anytime soon. Take a look at the responsible organisations, Wimbledon, US Masters, The Open, The Olympics and so many more.
I will be gutted to see the season ended this way but it's the logical thing to do.

What is the prize money for winning league one, if there is one, and do they still award that old first division champions trophy ?

People calling for the season to end now are terrified we are going to fuck up. We may fuck up but we've lost 3 leaguue games all season, even if we are a bit iffy to start with everyone else is gonna be and our title winning players are gonna be itching to get out there and finish the job.

End it now we go up, great. I won't even celebrate tbh, how could you. I'd feel like we've cheated. If we can play it out safely, watching on iplayer 3 games a week with beer in hand, well hell that might just get some of us saddos who live alone through this horrible fucking life

I found it, apart from the title it says fuck all about them being free

All EFL games to be aired live for free when football returns

Live coverage of all English Football League games is to be made available for free when football returns.

Fans of clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two will be able to watch their clubs with games set to take place behind closed doors.

In an open letter published on Friday, EFL chairman Rick Parry admitted that there is still no timeframe on when games can return or when fans can attend matches again.

“To give you an honest assessment of the current situation; the point at which you will be able to attend games again remains unclear,” Parry wrote.

“Please be assured, however, that we are going to welcome you back to stadiums as soon as it is safe to do so. Your contribution to the matchday experience and atmospheres created in stadia up and down the country is something we should never take for granted. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you today when football will resume, though whenever we do return, matches are likely to be played without crowds.

“We will endeavour to bring live football direct into your homes once it returns. Plans are continuing to be worked up for all games to be broadcast either via our broadcast partners, iFollow or equivalent Club streaming services.

“We will update you on this once we know when matches will recommence.”

Clubs across the EFL are eager to complete their seasons, with many facing insolvency as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

It remains to be seen how many clubs are confident of completing 2019/20 without receiving any more matchday revenue.

Clearly some of you like Mr Parry refuse to accept the full nature and implications of what is going on. There is simply no way we should consider starting up football again until most of society has returned to some sort of normality.

Two of those have been cancelled completely and two have been postponed. Don't think any Cov fan would want the season cancelled and you're arguing against postponing.

The EFL can’t do anything until the premier league take a position - why do you just not get this?

use points per game average for the rest of the season promote the teams on that basis no relegation so increase the leagues size until next season will sort the possible legals out.

One concern about resuming behind closed doors is that supporters will still turn up outside the ground.
Are you telling me that if, when we get promoted there won’t be thousands on the streets celebrating...

Give it a rest already. They want to play out the season, he’s said that’s what he wants. You can’t expect anything definitive when literally no one knows anything definitive.
Oh, and you don’t know what a wet market is.

The New season could also start behind closed doors who knows how long this may go on!
High risk people have been told it could be a year.
