Stickers for the EFL

I know I'm fully grown adult who should be well beyond collecting stickers, but I'll be all over this. Possibly even a complete book of nothing but City . A full page of Jake Bidwells perhaps.

Wow!

Although I bought some for the Euros or whatever the other year and it was shite, you got about 5 in a packet and they were so expensive.

6 for 5p when I first collected back in 78 or 79. Steadily increased, made some really difficult to get and a few others more common than dog shit and cut qty to 5 but mugs like me will still buy a box of 100 packs

First one I had and completed was in 1981, remember having to send away for the last few stickers from Panini.

The upside now is online swapping so nowhere need as many packs as you did back in the day

Italia '90 was the first stickers that I collected. I remember I had to send away for the last few. Nobody else I knew at the time collected them so there was no opportunity to swap.
The first football league one I collected was the Pro Set cards in 90/91. No idea why I can remember Brian Deane was the last one I needed when I can't remember what I was doing 5 minutes ago.
One day at college I had an afternoon off so purchased a full box of the 99/00 Prem stickers just to see how close I could get to finishing it and collected the whole 500 or so out of the 600 purchased.

1976 (77?) Panini or it may still have been FKS, album cover featured a shot of action from City v Liverpool at HR.

I think someone did a calculation at a recent World Cup with all the probabilities of getting different stickers and worked it out at over £1k to complete a set.

Bobby Gould was in virtually every pack in 1984, along with John Chidozie at Notts County!

These sound like the acknowledging words of a drunken and privileged Elton John, Liberace or possibly Bobby Crush.

Yup 1985/86 for me. Got down to the last 50 so could send off. I remember trading to get Allan Evans to get me to the magic number…”got, got, need, got etc etc etc”

Football 84 was my first one, 8p for 4 stickers (I think). I have completed 84, 85, 86 and 87 albums at home. My favourite childhood memory.

I'll 100% be doing next year's PL album if we go up and I give not one fuck that I will be turning 50 in March.

Will probably also collect the EFL one from this season if we win the league as it will be a nice momento if we finish 1st out of 72.

I bought all of these when they originally came out over the 95/96 and 96/97 seasons. From memory David Burrows, Richardson, Isaias, Oggy, Salako were amongst the players included. I inexplicably got rid of them but a few years back I did buy Dion, Nuddy and Oggy back off ebay a few years back.
