Freddy Eastwood turns down Plymouth Argyle loan move
Nov 2 2011Comment (1) Recommend

inShare
COVENTRY CITY outcast Freddy Eastwood has turned down the chance of joining Plymouth Argyle on loan.

The League Two club, out of administration after being taken over by James Brent, have given newly-appointed player-manager Carl Fletcher some leeway to build up his squad.

However he could not persuade his former Wales team-mate to make the long commute to Devon.

Eastwood has been frozen out of the first team picture at the Ricoh Arena after being told by Andy Thorn to find a new club due to concerns over his fitness.

my view and my opinion, I would rather have Eastwood than juke, have never rated him, we got rid of Kyle for less, I would like to see freddie and cody up front for a couple of matches and see what happens, Juke and platt not doing for me, we need to change it up front, Midfield okay, defence okay, could be better. like i said my views

I think that inconsiderate of Eastwood. He had the opportunity to go and become a hero at Plymouth by helping them stay up. He is guaranteed 20+ goals in league 2 if he did it in league 1.

If he can get 20 in League 1 then he should be able to get 40 in League 2.

The problem is a lot of footballers would rather not play and get higher wages by sitting on their arses doing nothing.

Interesting opinion. My view is without Juke we have next to nothing and Eastwood in his place would put is in a much worse position. Freddie could play on the wing if fit in the current side or in the diamond but has clearly been given the view he isn't wanted.

Remember no manager has been able to get the best out of him to date and he has been here for since early 2008!

No manager has been able to get the best out of him since the first half of the season Southend played in The Championship.

Perhaps what we've seen is the best of him sadly.

I agree with you here!

Cannot understand Freddy turning them down. OK its league 2 but no one else is coming in, and if its him who turned them down, its obvious the club were happy to let him go (as its Plymouth, Im guessing we were prepared to cover his wages??)

I want him to get fit first.

That's the 1st priority for any professional footballer. Freddy hasn't done that.

I think Eastwood lost the desire to play football once he go his transfers. (£) Idle bastard.

He's had his chances - that is multiple chances by the way - and he's shown no desire to get himself match fit so I wouldn't see the point in giving him another chance. Shame and a waste.

We wouldnt be paying his wages if he went to Plymouth or he would have gone to Bournmouth 2 weeks ago.

By the sound of what Thorn said in the Telegraph today most our players wont be playing soon if they dont do things his way (passing backwards & sideways & not trying to score he means)

Oh, you're talking about the direct, long ball approach the players seemed to take in the 2nd half on Tuesday as opposed to the passing shown in the first half. The same 2nd half we let 3 goals in? Sounds like a great idea to me

Do you honestly think that Plymouth, a team just out of Admin, would go splashing their money on one signing? Freddy must be on about £6k a week, and with the lack of football he's had recently, im sue they would be throwing this kind of money at him to go there being unfit, and after being out of the game for so long!

Thanks for that. I needed a laugh. Eastwood is a washed up waste of space. McCarthy hinted as much when he offloaded him to the idiot Coleman. He was supposed to be SISU's headline signing at the time. What a joke. League Two is too good for him.
