It does matter. All out attacks start from the CBs. That curled ball down the line is vital.

Which in its self is part of the problem we are relying on our CB’s to be thee creative spark in the team

That’s just modern football. Not the spark but the starting point. We aren’t going to start lumping it up from goal kicks

Again, very much provisional scoring, with waiting for Shef Utd and Watford to play, and another 8 rounds to go on top before we get a more accurate and detailed picture of what's going on in the League.

Still though, good to look at in my opinion even at this early stage.

Enjoy..

I'm glad we're playing away in our next game because the based on this place tonight, the CBS would be toxic.

Didn't oggy suggest that in the Post match, can't remember for sure, not suggesting what you're saying but just get the kid more advanced when the opportunity arises if he doesn't already that is?

My main concern this season is we seem poor at the basics....

Don't press together as a team
Passing is poor and is either behind the player and weight of pass poor too
Our throw-ins.....lack of movement and options
Corner kicks/free kicks/throw -ins to Opposition.....we switch off regularly

Are we missing Adi and Lawrence?
Are new coaching set up an improvement?
Is it transition?
Players not good enough?

I'd add to this:
Our full backs, wide players not busting a gut to get tight to stop crosses coming in (bizarre how tucked in Bidwell gets, is he told to?)
Keeper needs to assertively control his area and catch the ball. The Norwich keeper showed how it's done.
Defenders rarely bring the ball through midfield or the halfway line and midfield rarely through to strikers or the box. All too in a row predictable, rarely break a line.

Im convinced they’re told to keep their shape in possession just in case they lose it.

Bidwell tucking in so much has me worried tbh
Stoke game he got exposed for their goal but had to come across, same happened quite a few times against Bristol away in the League. Not sure if it's direction from Manager/Coaches or whether Binks position is forcing his hand.

Is there a case for playing binks at left back? Worked ok for Leicester playing Doyle there last season

He seems very consciously to come into the centre for some form of zonal defence. When clearly it's better for him to man mark the wide player and stop crosses.
As you say it's been an obvious weakness for all the games. If he's being told to do it I'd ignore the directive because he's being slaughtered for it.
If he's repeatedly doing it off his own bat he should be dropped.

He must have been following orders if not he would have been out the team before now.

Got to add bringing everyone back for opposition corners to this.
Norwich would have left 2 or even 3 defenders back to mark Wright if he just stayed on the halfway line.

Problem is you need Wright and Simms back for their height. There is no reason to leave MvE or Sakamoto up for their pace/dribbling ability on the counter

Better off leaving it to the centre backs and keeper. Wright would scare them into action .

Come January our Season Could be Over

Early last season, following and including Norwich we had a run of 2 points from 6 games. In that run we lost to Bristol City, Rotherham, WBA, and Preston, and only drawing with Norwich and Stoke.
Immediately following that run we took 27 points from the next 12 games which included taking points from Leicester, Leeds, Southampton, Middlesboro, and Sunderland.
Come January we could be anywhere in the league including top.

It's not optimism, I'm just saying what happened last year.
I'm not suggesting we will be in any position by January, just pointing out there is no reason to worry at this stage that the season might be over by then.

Not overly worried yet, hopefully a couple of weeks working on the issues in training should see us better after this international break
