By the sounds of things, SISU and the board seem to have long term plans for Cov :facepalm::
"The new board took over in March and since then we have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure the club is in a position to move forward on a sustainable basis in the future.
"That might not sound exciting to supporters but every club in the Championship is going to have to get to grips with this sooner rather than later because of the Financial Fair Play rules that are expected to come into force for the 2012/2013 season.
"The work that the board has done in the past four to five months has put us ahead of most of our Championship rivals in that respect and it is hard work that ensured the owners would continue to fund the club.
"There is no timescale on that funding but we are secure and can begin the season with great confidence for the future. Substantial investment has gone into Coventry City over the past three years and as,of yet, that hasn't led to a change in fortunes on or off the pitch.
"It is up to this board to make sure that we use the funds wisely to stablise the club for the long term. This is not a sprint but a planned approach where once again we can compete at the highest level. I would ask that your new board and management are given time to effect the turnaround, rather than be judged on the events of the past three years.
"Of course, we understand that most supporters will ask what all of this means to the playing side and while we are not going out to break the bank, it has given us the opportunity to back Andy Thorn and his staff.
"We all saw the way Andy and Steve Harrison got the team playing at the end of last season and I am really looking forward to seeing that style of play throughout the whole campaign.
"As well as the staff on the playing side, we've got a fantastic team of people working inside the club at all levels from commercial to community and we will continue to ensure that we are all working as hard as we possibly can for the good of Coventry City.
