Sky Blues and council have met over City's relocation plans

Has finally spoken out, said talks have been held regarding moving away from the Ricoh!

Looking less likely we'll be staying at the Ricoh long term judging by this development! Is this positive news though regarding a new ground plan??

Why haven't they asked him why the council has continually insisted there has been no conversations with the club regarding a new stadium for him to now say there has been 'in recent years'?

"In 2014 the Sisu bid for the Alan Higgs Trust shares was slightly higher than Wasps, however the offer from Wasps was unconditional, whereas Sisu's wasn't"

I can honestly say, that I can't remember that.

It seems that sisu are running out of excuses to cancel the litigation. Wasps have already said that they’ll talk about a rental deal when litigation stops and the council has shown willing to talk about a permanent move to a new ground. I won’t hold my breath though. Plenty of time for sisu to backtrack blaming everyone else.

One of the conditions was to work together on community projects I believe? Anyone know of any others?

So this development could be positive i guess? Looks good that at least both parties are having discussions

How about wasps negotiate and agree a deal and sign it once the legals are dropped?

The only party that appears not to be in discussion is wasps? Agree a deal and sign it when the legals are dropped.

Better still how about the council stay out of it and let wasps and club sort a deal out.

Because that would mean the Telegraph partaking in some actual journalism? Something they've not been familiar with over the last few years. Instead they let him off the hook by not following up with exactly those kind of questions.

As for Duggins, he seems to be a constant contradiction.

I believe he said there had been no planning conversations?
Might be wrong though.
Talk about a stadium went on for a while just ask Sandra Garlick and co.

Did his radio interview not happen where he said there had been other meetings as well?

It explains why the ground share news was resurrected never fails.

I was kind of hoping that our owners would take responsibility for the club and not put the onus on others but whatever you’re happy with.

Taking emotion out of why would you drop your bargaining chip before entering negotiations? Negotiations work to come to a compromise, in this case dropping legals and getting the club a deal. You don't give up everything the other side wants before you start. Nobody has given a satisfactory answer to this and it's extremely basic stuff..

Development talk. We’ve been here before so I’m not getting my hopes up on an actual development happening ever but SISU said that they would drop the legals if the council would assist them. That is what is apparently happening, Wasps have stated for some time that they’ll only talk once the legals have ceased. The way I see it SISU can drop the legals and get their conditions for doing so met and we can secure the future of the club for at least a period of time. That would be positive.

The question is are SISU now going to take the initiative and do what’s best for the club and drop the legals or backtrack? The cynic in me says they’ll backtrack. Hope I’m wrong though.

This could be the council calling out sisu's bluff, if it is a bluff.

They just make agreements that include the legals being dropped and negotiate and factor that in for when the deal is confirmed. It's not hard to grasp.

Do you not think bargaining chip is an exaggerated description of the attempted legal action? I would think that the only party with a bargaining chip is Wasps as they have the only viable option for the club? The clubs words not mine.

If it's insignificant with regards the negotiations then it shouldn't stop them taking place in the first place.

I keep hearing rumours about a deal being agreed but why would we be going through all this crap if it had. I'm sure parliament and the supreme court would be very unimpressed.

Seems like history repeating itself, especially with SISU talking about a new ground - pure fantasy. I think Cov leaving the Ricoh is another ploy to heap more financial pressure onto WASPs especially as they could be missing out on European rugby. Our rent is small, but they will also loose a portion of the F&B and potentially other advertising business. Pointless identifying other sites when we have owners like SISU they are not going to fund a new stadium.

Na that would never happen. Wasps are good people, who wouldn’t mislead in their accounts or relocate their club.

It was when CCC had agreed to sell to Wasps. At the time it appeared to be a case of them covering themselves from a legal POV as they weren't certain if the clubs option to buy the Higgs share still existed. Was rejected by Higgs and I think it later came out that Wasps had a veto so it was never going to happen.

Yes, the Council also said in court that PWKH was only going to sell to Wasps from the start and had no interest in selling to CCFC.

He uses the "Condition" line to play the "it was SISU" game.

SISU would go out to private investors to fund a new stadium and they would then seek a "management" fee together with raking in non-football related income. The private investors would get a decent return but SISU would cream it.
