A far more interesting discussion than comparing defenders!

Dublin is my favourite footballer in 40 years of support so easy for me....

Never saw Cyrille play live but saw Dion lots of times and he really was good. I remember a goal against Spurs where he flipped the ball over his shoulder and stuck it away. And in the air he was invincible. Was so sad to see him go to Villa

DD class up front and probably better than both Mo and Breen at the Back.

He was far from brilliant in his first 2 seasons. He went 22 games without a goal at one stage. If Leon Clark goes 22 minutes without a goal he gets abuse.

Dublin for me, incredibly consistent week after week, goals galore and virtually unplayable, unfortunately he ruined everything by going to the Vile, leshter and Septic, could and should have been a absolute legend, instead he is hated by most !

Dion all the way - hiding behind the goal against NEwcastle and coming out when Given had put the ball on the ground, nicking it and then scoring - oh those were the days. Getting all nostalgic now!!!

Dublin. Leadership, effort, scored with head and feet, agitated the opposition at set pieces, could play a very respectable central defence when needed. One of the most underrated English players in the 1990s.

Well put. Dublin was one of the very very few to deserve the overused legend status. Hutchison, Wallace and ogrizovic can also join the club but there are few other contenders.

Difficult one this.

I would call this a tie. Dublin had his best days at City for sure. As for Regis that is not so certain. Great player Regis but those in the game tend to associate him with WBA.
Both very good players. I would not like to say on this one.

Dion all the way for me. Leader, scorer of goals.

Regis, a powerhouse of a centre forward with electric pace although probably showed his best form at WBA. Dublin more versatile and a good leader on the pitch, encouraged all those who played with him. And scored a fair few goals as well.

Dublin for me but either would be first name on the team sheet if playing today.

regis was very very poor when he came but the 86 87 season was brilliant- but dublin for me was good all the time he was with us and scored important goals and was a leader

Regis, by some distance. Dion was good but mainly as a finisher. All round play was much better from Cyrille ... A class act and made others around him look good.
I liked Dion but my all time hero centre forward was Colin Stein closely followed by Mick Ferguson!

I remember some pundits remarking on how John Gregory had helped take Dublin to the next level, or somethin', not long after his move to Villa. It was just a prime example of how some players, especially the likes of Dublin, had been long overlooked by the mainstream media. Dublin refined his skills at City (he really became a very good finisher) and was as complete player as he ever would be by the time he left.

Grendel what's wrong with us, I fully agree with you again especially the Hutch & Wallace but I would also add Ferguson to the list, the balls Hutch would put in for them two, argh what days.

Both fine players and dublin by far the better, but cyrille would get my vote due to dion refusing to play. I wouldn't boo him and still consider dion a legend among my favourite players but that action is still unforgivable.

His version of events is that Richardson told him not to play.

lets not forget gallagher... remember a nightmare team in early 90's when we had 3 players that kept us up - Oggie, Stewart Robson and Gally - all heroes

Let's see now:

Regis - an 87 legend

Dublin - refused to don our colours to force a move to Villa

Tough one to call .... not
