We all discuss on these boards, behind computer screens simply because we don't know each other. If I knew you CCFC I would much rather meet up at a pub or a cafe for a chat about the City.
We all come on here for a shared interest, but we are all pretty much total strangers. Big difference.
Most people aren't going for an experience, they are going to get food because they are hungry.

I would physically have the time, but I can't always be bothered with the hassle. So effectively it is being lazy because I am knackered and not really in the mood.
Whats so fun about eating in a regular Mcdonalds though? The only time I remember having fun in Mcdonalds as a kid was when
A) They had a kids play area, ball pit etc.
B) I was with friends (which could be done anywhere)
If I had a Mcdonalds I would much rather drive thru than sit down and eat, does that mean I am any lazier than people who have gone inside Mcdonalds to eat? No, not really imo
People like different things and have different tastes, just because they don't like the same things as you doesn't mean they are lazy.

I had an experience that I found rather uncomfortable and impersonal. Was surprised myself when I had the feeling I had, but when I came home I said to my wife that the experience didn't sit comfortably at all with me.
The whole point of the thread was to ask if anyone else had simlilar feelings, or was it just me?
Basically all I am saying is it is a worse experience isn't it if you have chosen drive thru simply because you can't be arsed to go in and do have the time, are not in a rush and there's no other reason. If you could go in, but simply choose not to because you simply cannot be bothered to get your arses out of the car.
Not exactly. I don't like the anti-social aspect of phones, but do loads of online shopping and really embrace an awful lot of modern technology.
It's phones I have the biggest problem with, but only through people going into bubbles and nto interacting and being rather ant-social as a result.
Personally, I find the inside the worse experience than my car!

Bit different to your initial point though, the people who use drive thru when they could go inside are lazy (lots of people use mcdonalds without children)But it's kids I am talking about. Both my daughter and her friend wanted and got balloons. Both were really keen to go on the tablets (I couldn't get them off) and my daughter's friend specifically wanted a Happy Meal beacuse she wanted the gift.

And tbh, if I did I'm cynical enough to see their attempts to hook kids of junk food early by making it all part of the game, so my compromise would probably be to take them through the drive-thru now and again, but not to let them be dragged into the evil commercialisation of the dirty franchise

If your talking about going with a child who wants to go inside and you have the time to but can't be arsed to then I think you have a point but I didn't feel that is what you meant to begin with.

It depends on the situation / occasion doesn't it? I doubt most kids are food connoisseurs though so to a 6 year old they probably wouldn't be bothered if it was a McDonalds burger or an Angus Steak burger.
But then as soon as I start making that judgement, the better burger is the Morrisons Pork and Chorizo one, they're lovely... or the ones I'd make myself.
So then yes, it would be about being lazy... or if it were a treat, a nice burger down the Oak at Brandon or somewhere... but then I couldn't always afford that so yep, it'd be the cheaper one.
tbh I can empathise with the time thing. The doctor's ordered me under threat of doom to cut out just about everything tasty(that seems to include just about every fast food or, indeed, the Pork and Chorizo burgers from Morrisons!) so this evening I've just finished making up my bulk portions of chicken and sweetcorn soup for the next couple of weeks. Thing is... I've now not done the cleaning so the house looks a bit shabby, that has to follow tomorrow night as a result... so time slips away.

I was just on about the food though if you put them side by side. Must admit it's quite rare they have actually had balloons in McDonalds when I have been.
And I actualy siad it seemed lazy. I wanted to know the reasons why people use them, as I had never ever done so before. I've been in a rush before but always gone into places to pick up the food.
All I wanted to know is how other people felt and what percentage of people were just lazy?
When we went on Sunday and car had come out of the drive thru, the people sat in the car park, ate the food and then wound the window down and just threw the empty wrappers onto the car park. That is very, very lazy.
Sorry my mistake, no they are not lazy (or at least no lazier than those who go inside). Why do you seem to think it is? your original post suggests you think it is as you said it felt so lazy and is the sort of thing your slob neighbours would do, why do you think that?
Well yes, anybody throwing litter is very lazy. Nothing wrong with sitting in the car to eat though if that's what they prefer.

It depends what you class as lazy, grabbing a McDonalds or buying some mince and making your own burgers and baking your own buns.
Initial post seems like a massive over reaction but even if you don't like macdonalds, I'd rather Wat in my comfortable car with my music or radio than in the dirty pen with many of the chavvy animals inside. Really don't get the problem here. Costa have drive through in Leamington and that is definitely convenient on the way in to work.
I was fine going to the drive thru and hadn't thought about it much at all and it seemed the obvious thing to do with both kids in their pyjamas. It just suddenly came across me though the minute I pressed the button on the intercom and spoke to someone. At that point it all suddenly seemed rather surreal.
Well there you go, it is lazy for you. You prefer to go inside places and interact, therefore if you have to the choice to and don't ->Lazy. Not everyone enjoys the experience as much as you do so therefore not lazy.Because that is the way they are. They live their lives for everyone to see.
It was lazy for me. I am a very active person. I would rather walk somewhere than drive if it's feasible. I also love social interaction. I had a much, much better experience going into McDonald's and talking to my daughter and her friend, than I did with me driving and them two in the back seat. In that scenario they were pretty much just tlaking to each other. When you are face to face you can a much better conversation.
