Seems to be a fair few mysterious injuries happening at the moment.

I'd imagine the risk associated with a head injury isn't worth it

Imagine getting that take from an accurate observation.

The Wilson one we couldn't know about because of data protection.
Late pull outs by Simms, Bassette, Sheaf and Dovin.
It's definitely unusual, doesn't mean there's anything sinister going on you're the one who made that reach

Pretty sure the Bassette one was self-explanatory? Dovin Concussion.

Not really mysterious.

Club have a new policy about not disclosing details of injuries - not mysterious
Bassette took an elbow v Boro and missed a game - not mysterious
Sheaf wanted to play so did everything he could to make the game but couldn't - not mysterious

Dovin and Simms are the only ones that could be described as such.

A while ago you accused me of having an agenda...

This thread is the first Ive read what happened to Dovin.
Bassette was a late pull out though wasn't it?
We just seem to have a few of those at the moment.
Again, I'm not suggesting anything sinister, it's just unusual.
Same as when we had a run of players doing their ACLs.

I've got no agenda regarding my comments on this thread.
That's clearly obvious.
You just want to argue with every comment

I have to say under this new regime, correct me if I’m wrong or missed anything, but we haven’t had any injuries this season that have been due to fatigue? So like muscle tears/strains/pulls? Which was one of the objectives.

even in the case of Sheaf - his original injury was an impact one and then he got injured as he was coming back - which is quite common from a long lay off.
They’ve all been impact type ones, or where someone has fallen awkwardly in a tackle etc.

so that’s a positive at least.

Maybe the owner is looking to save money by asking the players to build a new squad through procreation?

Simms got himself back in the side against Luton, played a blinder and scored. Why would he for some reason not want to play. He would of started v Boro.

Ah yes fair enough, but not from playing Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday.
he’s probably en exceptional case given what others have said on his base level of fitness/robustness on joining the club.

The only plausible scenario I could think of was if Robins told him he was back on the bench and he was 'nah, f#k this - sore foot' but since this sequence of events played out only in my imagination - file under BS.

had this ever been explained because I can't think of a single other instance of a player being injured being kept secret because of GDPR

Starting to show why we signed him. Looks to have bulked up a little too. Hopefully our keeper for the next 15 years.

Still lots to learn and improve on but Dovin is definitely going to get a lot of confidence from his recent performances. Give him time and hopefully a good preseason in him and he could be a real asset.

He’ll be off to a top league after a couple of seasons with us. He’s a big talent.

Looks bigger, stronger and confident which is allowing him to command his area and communicate what he wants in front of him.

I seen him in person in the Birmingham bullring when I was out with my partner. He’s a lot more built up in person than you think. At 6ft and 100+ kg, I’m not exactly a small fellow by comparison.

It felt similar to Barnsley away in 2010/11 realising just how big Kieran Westwood was as a bloke despite being arguably ‘small’ for a GK.

You're always right! Unlike them muppets last night trying to claim there wasn't a single conversation about Dovinnearlier in the season.
