The stadium may have cost £115m to build, but a lot of it was clearance of contaminated land etc. and it was never worth remotely as much as that. Hence the mountains of debt it's been saddled with ever since, and the unseemly spectacle of everyone trying to push the debts onto somebody else.Standing back:
