I’ve recently decided to genuinely follow the Sky Blues, supporting a club with potential in the championship was the aim. I had a few good options even a couple in League One but here I am.

My reasons.

Obviously… It’s a new chapter. Yes, there’s definitely a Sky Blue bandwagon now. A new owner who’s ambitious is in charge, a lot of upside here. So if we had fandom tiers I’ve entered right on level one, I’ve never suffered with tenured Cov fans and I’ll most likely experience a club that will fight for promotion year on year, or a club that gets promoted and finally fulfills its potential. Time will tell. This could all go down the crapper and Doug King fails BUT…
I finally made my bed, I need to lie in it.

Nothing clicked. Admittedly, I’ve tried following a number clubs in the past, made an extra effort with a few of them but it just didn’t click for me. These things aren’t forced they need to naturally happen.

A club without a home. This attracted me the most I think with Coventry City. I was able to somewhat empathize with this, being a “football fan” with no club to call my own. Different obviously but the longing to belong and settle attracted me. There’s a good book about it too.

One club city. I always liked the idea of a city with one football club. I believe they produce more passionate fans. When a city only has one club, the fans tend to be more dedicated and passionate in my opinion. Might not always be the case but for Cov it definitely is.

Heart decision. In the end it boils down to a “gut” feeling right. You can spew out all the facts on why you should support the uniteds of the world but when you lay your head on that pillow, it’s what you feel that matters most. For some reason supporting Coventry just feels right for me personally. 14th in the championship, bright future, hopefully. PUSB

Welcome aboard buddy. It’s a rollercoaster and a lesson in everything bar football but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’ve got a great young squad and IMO the best manager outside the Prem and a real connection with fans and club forged through some pretty shit times. You’ll love it and hate it but never be bored.

14th is probably right with how the season has turned out but next year should be very interesting with lots off the books and a new owner so you’re joining at a good time.

Now you just need to pick a player to slate every game whatever they do. May I recommend Jamie Allen, though others like Palmer or Panzo if that’s your thing.

Unless Frostie the snowman signed for us and I missed it, not sure I've ever seen a white player play for us. Edit: I have spotted a few shite players though

That’s very kind of you, although I would warn you you’re five years too late.

Finally, we’ve had some brilliant years under Mark Robins.

hopefully we have a bit longer, but an average of my 60 years is far more misery, than delight.

I wouldn’t have it any other way though

“You can’t just go and throw the kitchen sink at it and people need to understand that. Also we are custodians of a football club that has a rich history and the supporters remain constant, so we have to look after that while taking things forward as quickly as we can in a sensible and sustainable way.

“And that’s really where we’re at, but the stability that comes with it I am grateful for because stability is something we have not felt for a while.”

Not having a home ground next season doesn't scream stability to me, but maybe Robins has heard something behind the scenes.

The control bit is key - under SISU it was strictly the club having to find the money for a prospective signing by offloading others which probably meant we missed out on signings we could technically afford. Hopefully DK is willing to dip his hand in his pocket to enable signings to be made so they're not missed, we'll still need to trade players to try and balance things but it's still a better position.

Deciding to join SBT? Your worst biggest mistake. Now, we'll never let you go... Welcome to the madhouse!

It’s really quite impressive really. I try to look at it on £600 iPhone, which would have been too spec 18 months ago, and it struggles to load all the adverts and pop ups and I only ever manage to read the first couple of paragraphs.

Yeh 100% the right thing to say, don’t want to make a big song and dance about having money available if there is any. With Waggy and Kane both going out, I’m assuming there is.

While I'm surprised he hasn't done an interview he had a few before it went through and has released a few statements. Hardly in Sisu territory.

The first acts feel quite SISU like, clearing expensive wages off the wage bill and bringing in young unproven loans. Hope next week is more positive

Have a word chaps... the geezer has just taken over a football club, and bang in the middle of a transfer window, do you not think he might be busy? I fucking hope he is! He will talk once his ducks are aligned.
