Imagine we're managed by Mr X...but we're looking for a new manager and Mark Robins is out there available with a mass of other candidates! An absolute no brainer!!! Be interesting to see where he ends up...I suggest the world is his proberbial.....

I agree. The same when Marlon King came here.

But some fans do quit going if they are unhappy with a club.

Always happened. I think Blackpool was particularly nasty at one point wasn't it?

The Oyston's?

Feels painful still, but I'm trying to stand back from this.

MR did a fantastic job. But he's not perfect. Some fans have been critical of setting up wrong, not making subs, and not playing players in their best positions.

DK has driven the club further, and that means change. Look around at the clubs that make progress (Brentford etc) and whst are they doing? You dont stop progress because of past success.

So it's then a case of why sack MR? Well, results haven't been good. And we've had mainly easy teams- look at our next 3 games, we would/will absolutely be back in the relegation zone by the end of November. How would MR turn that around??

He talked of stepping stones etc, but we're well into the season. Players are not turning up for him, so clearly not working behind the scenes.

This still does feel right, but it's DK's job yo look forward, not feel love and sentiment for what's gone before. Ruthless, yes. But that's often what's needed.

I thought Doug king was a shrewd businessman who doesn’t suffer fools gladly , He needs to give his head a wobble and smell the coffee ,
He is being advised by charlatan with fake hair ,fake lips and cheekbones with the title as sports performance director ,
The reason why I post which isn’t often I was working near Preston and got talking to one of there supporters he told me Alan Browne deal was all but done ..Robins had showed him around stadium/ryton and he was impressed and bought into the idea …he was then obliged to talk to SPD …apparently after speaking to her he didn’t fit the criteria they were looking for so deal was off …Robins was fuming
God help us if she is instrumental in all the signings we do ..they will be all rainbow wearing ,limp wristed ,paco rabanne smelling players and the fastest they move is to who gets first to the newly built hairdressers and nail bar which used to be Robins office at Ryton
We are in the championship ffs …woke and self pity is going to get us relegated
A certain level of skill-set ,heart and fucking DESIRE is needed

I'll never agree with the way they've gone about sacking Robins even if the new man is a success.

Not been handled well at all as far as I'm concerned.

And this is the point. Managers come and go but I think Robins had/has more than enough credit in the bank to be given more time. I’ve been messaged by a few non-city supporting mates who are amazed that we’ve sacked him. It feels like a travesty and regardless of any future success (he says optimistically) I think we’ll be lamenting his treatment for years to come.

Having said this he did fuck off to Huddersfield first time around so maybe it’s just the nature of the beast.

I’m slightly concerned that this will be a precedent for future appointments and we’ll see future managers sacked quickly.

King needs to get out of the club, had enough and we will go no where under him. Hope everyone else can see the same.

Sterling work young man. I'm still "playing" and loving it in my sixties. Treat each game as maybe my last. You're a long time dead.

Read a lot of stuff on here. Mostly negative towards Doug. My two penneth worth. I think Doug is doing what needs to be done. Also, I think he pulled the plug on Robins at the right time. He was going nowhere.

I have a lot of respect for Robins and everything he has done for the club. However, I feel he had run out of ideas, was tinkering for the sake of tinkering. Results said he had to go. One win in the last nine championship games last season and a poor start this season.

Robins persisted playing players out of position. Last season one of our most potent partnerships was MVE left back and Saka on the wing. I can't think of one game this season where we played this. He chose to put Lati and left back and MVE further forward? Saka in as an attacking midfielder. Saka is probably the most skilled winger in the championship but he almost refuses to start him where he needs to play. Was bizarre.

I think Doug has made some great investments over the last two years and I am pretty sure he will continue to do so. I look forward to our next manager. I live I hope he will get a very strong squad performing as it should.. Onwards and upwards.
