Good interview, but Christ, he doesn't half have some strange expressions in his vocabulary!

He fucking loves it, doesn't he.

The work he has done is really quite special. Hopefully we get over the line shortly and he can throw us a massive party.

Interesting reading about how he reacted to each of the ‘heartbreak’ moments in his 3 seasons here. Chins up and move on every time, it’s an attitude which permeates the club.

Sort of baiting my inner fat guy with his talk of ‘cooking’ though.

Lampards reaction was the same after the Southampton loss.

He visibly led the players to the crowd, enthusiastically clapping, he was sending a message. Keep positive, hold your nerve. I’m still confident, you should be too.

“But you should go away in this interview and be aware that I treat it very, very seriously, the position of being in charge at this moment of this institution.”

I thought that final paragraph was telling.. he must have big plans for the club!

I have no issues in him basking in his success. He didn’t sell our stars in 2023, backed Robins after banking massive profit and he made a ballsy decision to sack a club legend that ultimately paid off.

King, to his credit, has been a great leader for the club.

I still won’t sing his song though

There are some games where you can take a lot of confidence from despite getting a negative result. Southampton done a job on us but we were the better team overall and sometimes shit happens.

Compare Lampard’s reaction to Hellberg lashing out after Boro hit a bad rut. It’s night and day.

Lampard is a calm figure so even when we wobbled, everyone at the club held the line, from top to bottom.

Or indeed Hellberg saying how he refused to talk to Lampard at the CBS because he was pissed at the result.

I absolutely agree with him that not sneaking up last year was, in hindsight, beneficial.

We'll be far more prepared this year than we would have been last.

He chats some absolute waffle but he’s done a good job and I think from that understands we need to try and stay up next season.

He tends to waffle a bit when avoiding questions and he's definitely does that in that interview and others when asked about his future intentions for the club.
But to be honest, it's better for everyone he doesn't lay his intentions bare.

He's actually a pretty skilful orator. He's had his share of criticism at times but without doubt he's done a tremendous job in putting the club on an excellent footing. When additions were needed in the January transfer window he backed Lampard and those who came in ( with the exception of Yang) have contributed.
We are absolutely in safe hands and worse case scenario he had made us an exciting acquisition target.

Remember when the haters kept saying he needs to stop making decisions and hire someone involved in footy to do it

He's on a generational run

He hasn't really put a foot wrong, there are a few things I have disagreed with but they are relatively minor. I think I've finally got over and accepted him letting MR go.

He has been fantastic owner so far, not in my wildest dreams (a few years back) would I have imagined the club owning the stadium and sitting top at this stage of the season.

All while being a well run club that hasn't just spaffed money up the wall hoping something sticks.

He even talks like me after I've had a few too many beers:
"I wanted a cup run and he gave me a cup run. I do love the cup. I think there’s something special about the cup"
