We all know I don't trust the bloke

However

His decision to remove Mark Robins and get in Lampard was right. I dont think anyone can disagree on that anymore. Granted the way it was done could have shown more appreciation etc, but I must say, what a set of bollocks he had to make that call, stand by it, and live or die by the sword with his choice

Looking back i find it quite admirable to be honest

Well done Douglas, and if he gets us to the top flight I will take back all ive said

Still don't trust him though

Funny that Doug knows more than most of us about football. Took the emotion out of the decision and did the right thing.

It’s a combination of things, I feel the players have always been capable of this, for what ever reason it wasn’t working, it certainly is now.

Robins alluded to it in his last few interviews, we needed some confidence. We have that and momentum, not playing particularly well but we’re winning and that’s all that matters.

Lampard is a winner, he’s a football man and you can just tell he wants this to work. 100 percent is the right man to take us forward.

Onwards and upwards. PUSB.

His vision of the club comes with an expectation that unfortunately MR was struggling to deliver. He thought the squad was better than 20th and picked a different path to go down. It looks like he not only made the right decision, but showed intelligence in the replacement and the timing of the announcement. I don't have an opinion on Doug as an individual, mainly because if his vision becomes reality nobody's opinion of him will matter anyway.

Agree.
Still think the forum was a PR disaster and still have trust issues with him based on how a non football fan woke up one morning owning a football club.

I'm in Fuerteventura this week & the episode with all the fathers on the plane popped in my head on the flight.

Sorry, are we talking about priority points on this thread?

His motives are obvious. That he wants promotion to maximise the value of his asset.
However unlike his predecessors, he seems to understand that for promotion to happen we need a decent team and decent staff. I get the impression that he sees the management side of the club as being no different to any business. He alluded to that in the forum where he said he wanted an hierarchy in the coaching staff, and everyone being aware of their responsibilities.

He has, and will continue to make mistakes. But compared to the owners we've had in my 35 years supporting the club, he is at the top.

I was one who didn't want Lampard but as a Cov fan first and foremost I will back any manager who is in charge .
We are playing well , the squad seems settled and confident so no complaints so far , as long as we don't see the suicidal high line too often

A lot of us myself included were very anti king when he made that choice fair fucks to him its paid off and certainly when the anger ran out it was clear why he had to go. And Super Franky Lampard will lead us to victory

It was definitely a controversial decision, and many of us felt like sacking Robins was short sighted given how long he was here and the achievement he had.

However, I remember pointing out months ago that he was coming across a bit flat and defeatist in interviews. His body language and general demeanour seemed off to me, but it was like we didn't want to question it because of how much of a legend he was. I recall many people saying that this was nonsense when I flagged it, but the more I look at it now, the more I think I was right.

I had little expectation with Lampard, and I wasn't happy with the Robins sacking, but I said I would give it a chance. Let's just say the results we are seeing are well above what I thought would happen. It's actually quite refreshing listening to him speak as well, and unlike the interviews with Robins at the end, which just felt depressing and flat.

I'm really enjoying it at the moment, and long may it continue.

I have no idea whether Frank will prove to be a good manager in the long run but for now I can see the improvements he’s making and I’m impressed with the bond he’s built with a very sceptical and angry fan base.

The fact that Chelsea, Everton and Derby fans all wish him well says a lot for him as a person I think.
