We need to start seeing some outs either way

Collins,Bidwell, Allen and loans for Bassette and Obikwu at the bare minimum

Youd imagine, as long as we dont have an injury crisis none of them will get any game time

There will be injuries though. Jamie is a very useful player to have around . Ideally Jake fits that that category too. I appreciate cold decisions have to be taken to fit into both financial and 25 players squad restrictions.
Bassette I think is outside the 25 squad limit.

For me he is a must starter. He has that ability from midfield to create something that no one else can really do, certainly with as much consistency. Either a smart through ball or final pass. His shooting is also head and shoulders above, which is refreshing when it feels like half our team can't hit a barn door.

I get the reservations about him. He needs to stay fit for one. This season is certainly a big one for him though.

Torp has the ability to really kick on under the guidance of Lampard as Rudoni has . Keeping him fit is the key factor.

obviously I agree but the problem is who wants them? And at the right price.

Take Collins as an example whatever contract he has here will be ten times better than anything he gets next. So we are stuck with him basically. Simon Moore did the exact same thing.

True but Moore got lucky. How many times has he played since us and will play this season?

Also sadly proves the point of waiting out your current contract. Even if we gave Collins away for free no one will match his wages here.

All in all Collins has to be one of the most bizarre signings ever. He was Barnsley league 1 second choice keeper and we paid circa 500k to get him.

Wilson wasn’t good enough but had an all time heroic season and more than happy to keep as number 2. But for the Vik and hamer money in and we didn’t get a stand out number 1 was criminal. Obviously robins learned the hard way and went and got Dovin a season later.

Charlton about to sign Kelman for 5m. So much money in this league now, teams must be following the Chelsea model of simply stretching out the payments in instalments over many years!

The Gyokeres transfer is reportedly £55.5m rising to £65.5m with add ons.

Pretty sure we only have a 10% sell on clause, so that's only £3m upfront and we need to give Brighton £450k or that, so effectively £2.5m eventually rising to £3.35m with add ons once we'd given Brighton their share.

Tbf there was talk of being there being an $80m release clause, and speculation of a 15% sell on, so there were some posts a while ago think it would £5-6m. £2.5-3.4m is still a sizeable chunk but not the £5-6m that some were suggesting 6 months ago.

The offical transfer document that Sporting have to legally disclose showed we will get 3.75 million. Noted that is euros so about 3.25mil in total

It’s not a lot for clubs actively trying to get out of this league. We’re no longer a plucky League One club.

Agreed, it’s not a lot compared to clubs on the parachute payments, goes to show the shrewd business we made on players like Hamer and and the Arsenal striker. Also Rudoni, Torp, MVE… Good scouting and training to further talent/assets. Some you win some you lose in the transfer market but of late we are doing ok.

It's a paltry sum if you're trying to build a side to get promotion to the Prem but we're after strengthening what we already have. That's enough for a signing like KKH.

An equivalent KKH would potentially be a great signing though right?

Which is what I said. If you need to replace several players it isn't much. We already have a good side. A couple more good players in certain positions would make us very strong.

Rushworth and KKH are excellent signings. We don't know what funds we have or who if anyone we have lined up. We don't know if we will be bringing in any more loans. But if nobody leaves or arrives (can't see it myself) we would be starting the season with a strong 1st team.

I said it before but a few years ago we would look at Torp as our standout midfielder.. shows how far we have come that we see him as in option

As for a 2m valuation……

Torps still got endurance to sort, what I mean is he can produce for 5-10games but then possibly pick's up injury so rotation is required but I have no doubt he's picked up in the new regimen!

He’s a lovely footballer for sure. Seems to have gone slightly under the radar for some.
I reckon like Sheaf and Wright, injuries/fitness affected his season.

Torp has lots of ability and has had the time now to develop his fitness levels to what the Championship requires. It is a big season for him. But he needs to add consistency to his game. Last season there were too many games where he barely made an impact and games just passed him by. if he can do that then we will have some player on our hands.

There was a 15% sell on clause, we gave up 5% in exchange for an early lump sum mooted to have been used to sign Asante.

I would add physicality to that, (though you may be including that when you mention fitness)
But all been well he should have a full close season working with Chris Jones under his belt by the time the season starts so its really over to him to live up to his potential.
