It came as a shock ( if true ) that we had a £5.5 million bid for Rushworth turned down .
Now the pot has been sweetened by hopefully £3.5 million, from the Vik saga ?
Season tickets guesstimate at £9 million?
Now to our players potentially being sold ;
Milan , Doug’s estimation @ £15 million
Collins £500k
Bidwell £750k
Binks £ 1.5m
Allen £750k
Torp ( controversial) £2 m
Asanti £2 m
Simms £ 4 - 5 m
Wright £ 12 m
Bassette out on loan ?

That’s if we have any potential suitors for the above , rather than paying off their contracts ?
Your thoughts & amendments

The season ticket sales contribute to reducing the operating loss. If that’s spent on players, the losses increase by (your number)£9m. Doug (rightly) wants the club to be close to break even operationally.

No one is paying money for Collins.

We are stuck with him. Only hope is a team from the farmers league (SPL) randomly come in for him.

If we pay 50% of his wages surely he will find a move.

Why would you get rid of Torp, he was arguably our best midfielder before he got injured?

Fuck me, are people actually wanting rid of Torp???? He was great before he got injured. Him and Grimes are the only players we have that can play defense splitting passes. Sometimes I reckon people are watching different matches than me

100%agree Torps going to be a big player for us and I can only see him getting better, I think this will be a massive season for him and sheaf and if they were playing for anyone else we would all be envious.

Torp for £2 million is genuinely mental.

Out of curiosity how much do you think Torp is worth?

He expects operationally to lose £6-8m a year

Well there are people on here who think Eccles is worth £5 million... reality that's probably more Torp value.
And no I don't want to hear from anyone that thinks Eccles is better than Torp.

Torp could actually be worth more if he can keep himself fit, he's very very talented, selling him for £2 million is a totally bonkers suggestion.

ST will be a lot less than 9m. 5.5-6m? Then wages are to come out. We will have to sell just to balance the books .

I’m assuming you don’t want to sell the players listed but just thinking what the internal valuation is?

Collins: Either a loan or release. No way we are getting money for him especially atm. Best hope is we let him go for free.

Bidwell: More of the above I think, either a release of contract so someone can pick him up or a very minimal fee.

Binks: Loan. Can’t see the club being willing to make a loss so soon. Still young but needs a lot of development into his defensive game.

Allen: Maybe £250K to £500K.

Torp: Nonsense to let him go. Would personally charge £4 - £5 million on the assumption I don’t want to let him go.

Assante: £2 million. Think if we could flip him for the same amount we paid that might be worthwhile but don’t mind him as a bench option

Simms: £3.5- £4 million. Same as the above

Wright £12 - 15 million. I don’t think unless Lampard changes tactics up front we’ll get the best out of him. But still a top player, rumours he’s open for a move. Wonder if Wolfsburg would consider a move now Sargent has said fuck off to them.

Ridiculous post

But if the £5.5m bid did happen I am curious if/where that money will be used instead.

Eccles has got 100+ games at a good consistent level in the championship. We've not seen that from Torp yet, some good moments but also some games that have passed him by.

Eccles will always have a 6/7 out of 10 game.

Torp has the ability to have a 5 out of 10 game of a 9 out of 10.

I'd rather have the latter to be honest.

Would have been impressive if Torp had managed 100 league games in 2 seasons!

Torp also seems to be improving, whereas I feel like Eccles stagnated a bit last season.

If Torp can be stronger in general and not switch off when it comes to defending, then he’ll be the star.

Torps defensive stats last season were particularly impressive, and if im not mistaken the best out the midfielders.

Perhaps at picking pockets in the busier areas, but watch him tracking back after we’ve lost possession.

Not sure myself. He has the most tackles in the defensive 3rd outside of Sheaf, Most clearances and most intereceptions per 90

I’m sure it’s far more nuanced than that. For a start there are sizeable operating losses to cover. They will then make a business decision. Rushworth has the possibility of being a huge saleable asset in the future so King will find 5.5m. That £5.5m won’t be made available for a “kitty”. King wouldn’t release 5.5m for a similarly talented keeper of 33 say.

I wasn't saying that he should have, just that it is where Eccles value base is

It's horses for courses though isn't it? Different players performing different roles. Albeit Torp is far better defensively than he might appear.

He might have reached his ceiling, but even if he has he's still a good signing for a lot of teams at this level imo

We need to start seeing some outs either way

Collins,Bidwell, Allen and loans for Bassette and Obikwu at the bare minimum

Youd imagine, as long as we dont have an injury crisis none of them will get any game time
