Frankly I could blame that darn JPT trophy for knocking some stuffing out of our good run and I'd be right because I said it so many times. But sooner or later the wheels come off and this can happen so I'm pleased it has happened in a pointless cup game and one league game against a side who have now won 6 on the spin.

Had we won today we would have been just 6 points off automatic promotion!
But we didn't and the fact most other results went our way today is a blessing.

We still sit comfortable just out the playoffs. This is now a time to take some stock and fix the last couple of poor results and get back to winning ways. I think we will do that, no problem. It just needs tweaking a bit by Robins. We make chances and we should never of lost either of those games this week. So we can rise above that.

There's a long way to go yet.
I would like the defenders to be sorted out. maybe Cameron should come in. Also Thomas willl give us strength in the middle. Up front Clarke is a player who poaches goals and we are not exactly playing to that strength. He's not McGoldrick for sure and I don't think we have managed to replace him properly yet.
We have a good squad and we may need to freshen up the first 11 for the next game.

Over two games we have had enough chances to win both games. We have had about 23 corners! Worryingly not one goal or near goal has come from a single corner. That has to be addressed and we must do better there.

No panick, dissappointing but we have an away game in Brazil colours next so expect a win and back on course.

yes I was going to add a rest for one or two may be on the cards. Baker, McSheffrey, the Edge may all find a bench next week.

That was a hangover game from Tuesday night... Clarke did not get the service today.
Robins did change it and brought Elliot on, and carved out a couple of good chances. We WILL bounce back...PUSB.

I totally agree with the sentiment of this post and I apologise for the negativity but I thought we were poor today, the players didn't look like they wanted the ball by the end. We seem to have lost a bit of that spark we had a few weeks ago, the players look absoloutley shattered. Although I do think we're doing a lot of things right and I only see this last week as a minor blip

I am always optimistic...& it has to be said we'd be almost home & dry now if our away results (27 points) were in any way a reflection of our home results (20 points). Having said that - only Bournemouth stand out as having significantly better home:away points ratio...even Doncaster have more away wins than home which perhaps shows just how wide open things still are - take nothing for granted!

Ah - the old 'mid-week' game cost us excuse...

We haven't won more than 2 in a row in the league all season. This is the norm.

Both games have been down to our appauling home form imo.

These were two significant losses though, I just hope their confidence can recover.

This week has virtually ended our season.

Completely disagree with that. all to play for. We lose one league game to a playoff rival who have won 6 on the spin and our season's over?

If we are going to create 23 corners maybe we should have Fleck back from the start just to plant them on someone's head.

Then Malaga for Edj to head them in.

The fact that Yeovil have won 6 on the spin is irrelevant to the fact it has dented our play off hopes.

The 3 teams above us each have 2 games in hand, it is highly likely that 2 of those 3 teams will win at least one of those games, which will put us 7 points off the play offs.

I can't see us overcoming that at this stage of the season.

And I competely disagree with that Paxman II and completely agree with Coundon.
The chances of overcoming Crewe are - inho - virtually nil. The chances of us getting into the top six after the recent run of results is - imho - virtually nil

30 corners in two games on not one goal.
20+ shots on goal, and not one goal.
Not scored a single goal now in something like over 3 hours of play despit creating an enormous amount of chances.
The opposition goalkeepers seem to be playing blinders against us recently. But is this because our strikers are not capable of placing a shot correctly? The greatest reflex reaction in the world cannot stop a shot if it placed mopre than an arm's length away from the keeper, but our strikers are not doing that.
Most of the points we have gained recently have been through coming back very late in the game with one or two goals. Such luck could not go on forever.
We are conceding stupid goals - usually from set pieces - every game. To date, we have been getting away with this because we have managed to scrape some late goals to overcome our leaky central defence.
Our strikers have not scored for a long time now. Looking at Clark's goals, most of them have been scruffy goals, not clean strikes. I do not believe that he is the McG replacement and I do not think he is good enough and after today I am convinced that the fans of other clubs were correct when they said he was lazy and couldn't be bothered. He has got his two and a half year contract and suddenly he cannot score goals anymore?
We do not have another out and out striker unless McD can raise his game from Div 2 to Div 1 and score goals.
MR knows this and I believe this is why he has been talking about bringing strikers in - he knows our current strikers are just not good enough.

So, we have a leaky defense, our strikers are not good enough, our home record is absolute crap, we are 4 points of a playoff place and have played 2 games more than those above us, there are SIX teams below us who can all overtake us with their games in hand, and we seem incapable of winning anything anymore.

So yes Mr. Paxman II, I completely disagree with what you say, except to the extent that it is far too late to panic - this season is over.

We are not going to get relegated, and unless a miracle happens we are not going to get promoted, so MR - with hopefully the full support of SISU - should concenttrate on building the team for next season. He should stop playing the players that are not good enough for next season (including Edge and Wood imho) and should try to bring on the youth and other players that he thinks should be coming through, as well as spending a lot of time in making the right choices as to who should be brought in for next season.

Who knows, if we do it right we might get promotion next season with a team good enough to stay up.

Will do:

Crap defence, crap strikers, seasons over, let's hope for better next season.

Happy? Personally, I think it lacks something in depth and definition, but that is just my opinion.
