Number 4 (by Stan Colleymore) here.
To Stan Colleymore's credit he didn't celebrate it.

Eder for Brazil against Scotland in 1982, as a 10 year old watching that Brazil team was magical!
Saying that David Nareys opener in the same game wasn’t bad either.

If we are talking about spectacular goals, there were a few by Tony Yeboah that stand out.
My personal favourite is the second one shown in this video.
He takes the ball down on his chest, then his thigh, swerves past a defender and then volleys the ball with a tremendous shot that goes in off the bar.
It's the most spectacular goal I've ever seen.

The ball going on off the bar adds to the goal

Yes love this one because of the context. Also the Van Persia header v Spain is pretty spectacular in terms of the placement and distance.

Yes, that JJ goal did cause some animation with me too! That day I was with a couple of WBA supporting mates, before and after the game. I didn't milk it too much (not at all in fact) But I remember them being very warm in praise not just of the goal but City deserving all three points.

In my opinion, one of the greatest goal scorers of all time. Matt Le Tissier. Nicknamed "Le God", and you can see why watching this 5 minute super-goal fest. (look out for his scorcher against CCFC at 3:40. Oct '96) Enjoy!

Was really surprised Hoddle never tried to build an England team around him they had very similar attributes

Was it Hoddle who gave him a handful of caps? He turned out to be one of many before him (and since) who just couldn't replicate club form for country.

He last played in a 1-0 home defeat to Italy in 1998 WC qualifiers where Hoddle tried to play Le Tissier & McManaman behind Shearer and it didn't work and Le Tissier was made the scapegoat and never played again. He played in the B team prior to the 1998 finals and scored a hat-trick and was still not picked for the finals.

I remember another free scoring striker who wasn't selected for that France '98 squad.

He wasn't given the chance to.
He was excellent whenever he played, but he wasn't played enough.
